Been eyeing up the C63 AMG recently. Apparently, according to Modern Horsepower, their stage 2 kit which consists of Exhaust, T-stat, and Tune will bring it to 600+hp and staggering performance number including a 3.2 second sprint to 60 and a 10.6 @ 130.

Granted this run yielded a scorching 1.5 60' so some seriously stick drag radials were used. However does anyone know if these claims are indeed accurate. I've never seen an n/a motor respond so ferociously to basic mods like this.

If so this may hold me off on my long-term goal, an R35 GTR.

I haven't seen 10.6@130 out of them but i've seen deep 11s for the mods you listed. I mean maybe the ones i seen didn't have tunes just bolt ons but the drag radials are a huge must in the situation. I definitely want a c63, they sound and look straight badass, and seem to respond good to mods either way.

4klb car with driver + ~600 hp = mid 10s?

have a hard time believing that wasn't a freak run without slicks

that is also ALOT of money for a tune, exhaust, thermostat, gaskets, intake, and a catch can.

i also call BS on this company...
Caliber srt-4 we have seen gains of 32.6 whp and 24.2 lbs.
thats what they're saying for an exhaust system

rwd mercedes, with the auto transmissions, and slicks do well together especially considering their weight. I'll beleive high 10s, low 11's for these cause i've seen it but 10.6 is pretty fast. I'm going to see if i can come up with some videos of them running that fast.

Haha, that was one of the ones I had my eye on. It looks to be tastefully modded as well. As long as I can get over buying a used, 'modded', car. The OCD side of me worries.

I meant Modern Horsepower. I have Modern Performance on my brain since I had a CSRT4.

I've dealt with this dealership in the past. I would not buy from them.

I love AMG and only wish I had loot for one, they are such a fine piece of equipment. If I had that car, I wouldnt bother modding it. Stuff is perfect as is.

I know it doesn't mean anything or add any detail to the discussion, but I think one of the guys from MHP posts on SVTP and everything usually appeared legitimate, as he has always had video. The gains are REALLY hard to believe, but I certainly wouldn't doubt them right away. Also, it's hard to say what that tune looked like.

"+165 hp and +127 lb-ft of torque"

From an intake, header, exhaust, and tune? Not without serious octane, I'd think... but also not impossible, that is a seriously huge motor.

I have done a few of these new AMG cars and they respond extremely well to mods.

That's what I thought! But if it is true- wow- that engine must be suffocating with the stock intake/exhaust.
