Hey guys,
I'm a vw guy and not used to map sensors.
My girlfriend's brother drives a 2nd gen eclipse with a 420A in it. He just got a CEL code. High intake manifold pressure is one code. The other is misfire cylinder 4. I'm thinking the misfire could be a result of the high intake mani pressure.
It's a 5speed and he told me that in between shifts, the rpm's hover. He usually has to come to a complete stop for the rpm's to settle back down to idle.
My first thought is a vacuum leak somewhere in the intake tract, but we traced all of the lines and can't seem to find them. I'm going to spray all the connections with brake cleaner and see if i can hear it idle rough at any point i spray, but thought I would post here first.
Anyone have any other suggestions on what the problem is or how I can go about diagnosing it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
