MPx had a meet the other day and had Ed Peters there to explain the inner workings of a transmission. He also provides many tips and tricks to make sure your transmission doesn't fail you. This is a very informative video and while it isnt a standard for all cars, people who have never taken apart a transmission would benefit from getting to know how a transmission works (and works correctly)

note: this is for a FWD car, but he explains things dealing with diffs and rears as well.

thanks! to be honest ive messed with everything car wise besides transmissions internally. this is a good video with some nice tips to keep yours lasting long!

good suggestions on oil, tinks to keep you shifting correctly, and dis assembly.

I liked the oil bit, that was some good information.

Having built a few transmissions from the ground up myself, the complexity of their simplicity still amazes me. So many little parts that all do the same thing, lol.

the explanation about sheer is well worth watching the video. god knows i threw high mileage mobile 1 in my trans the next week LOL
