Fbodies are fast...but the kid was on STREET TIRES... when he got his boost line fixed and put on slicks, they were almost even. Something like..the kid started with 12 lengths and won by 12 lengths. Of course the T/A wasnt spraying, but still. If the kid knew two $hits about racing, I think he could have taken him in that car.

yeah but that motor alone was making into the 600s, with nitrous, a procharger, and methanol injection. That trans am was on track tires not street tires, it obviously had some tranny work cause it would be pointless to put that style shifter into a stock tranny. I wanna say heads up....civic dont have **** on that car, and they wanted 20 car lengths if this was the street it would be run waht ya brung and hope you brought enough...haha so its all golden

Well, the guy with the TA was extreemely cool about the whole thing, and he sold the car back to the guy for a couple hundred bucks.

Apparently the car was driven by the guy that owned it, and he is apparantly not a very good driver, or decision maker for that matter.

The guy in the TA could have told the kid to f-off, but he didn't, and I respect that.

Well, he probably had at least 2 months notice before the race. The civic owner should of went on a diet. he looks alittle chunky and less wt the better, especialy in a civic. I must admit, i enjoyed watching the video. i would bet both parties got payed for being involved in that show. Both cars were fast imo. The few runs were the civic started out in front and added slicks, he seemed to hold even and not loose any ground. He got destroyed in the end thou. He needed a shot of NOS at least, and bigger slicks.

your right, an awd turbo 4 definitely would have been a better match and wouldn't have needed as many car lengths at all. But with a good driver that civic would have given the t/a a much better run...not saying he woulda won, just a better run

Especially since the other is faster and has slicks already... why cut your own wastegate line, why make claims that your third gear is out, why make claims that your clutch is slipping, why agree to race if you need 20 car lengths to make it a race?

built and supercharged lt1 setup for drag racing ~ mid 11's to mid 10's give or take, alot of factors to tell but that car looked like it had been raced before quite a bit. 100 shot on top of that and your guess is as good as mine. key words- "set up for drag racing".

rumor on ls1tech is that the kid with the honduh had a professional driver that was going to drive the car for him, but then the driver either bailed out or the kid fired him so he had to drive his own car.

I wonder if he'd lost his car if he was actually a decent driver or his car WAS fast. Not from the fact that he would win the race (he'd still lose), but I don't think the domestic guy would've felt so bad about taking his car. I think the domestic guy just felt too guilty about taking his Honda after how bad he beet him, almost like he was robbing the special olymipics of their gold medals (in a moral sense).

To me, it seemed as though he lied about his car's HP and capability to Pinks just to get on the show itself. He totally forgot that he'd actually have to race if he ever got on. 2 months later, he gets a call....This is why you never talk your car up because there are so many more people that are faster.
