I also happen to have a Toyota. Not much to say about it...it's a great car. Btw, nothing embarrasses me, which is not always good but that's the way it is.

While we're waiting for somebody to post more Toyota stuff, here's a nice Toyota motor, the F1 V10 they came up with a while back:

yep most are Supra or supra based (SC, IS). So they over shadow my ES300 and my Corolla which are both tastefully modded.

Yeah I just figured we should have all the toyota people talking to each other as well. And I figured almost every toyota would be a supra on here

Now that you mention it, I have two Toyotas. The Supra in my sig pic and then my tastefully moded racing  '07 RAV4 LTD, seen here in the background after I ran over that tube frame V8 powered Z car. Most recent RAV4 mod is a powered 3 X 10" subwoofer attached to the back hatch door which I hope will give me additional thrust coming out of tight corners. My kids say it also provides adequate "bump".

Mr. 2jz, you'll probaby have to fight my two boys for it. They're now 15 and 16 y.o. and have been known to ask me "hey dad, when you die can we have your Supra?" Love those boys.

But since you said "...your motor..." here's a recent courtesy pic for this thread (from the 10th Annual CF Benefit Show in Dublin last month):

On the dyno during tuning it made ~615whp at 22 psi on 93 pump with 50/50 meth/H2O spray for charge air cooling. The small'ish GT2860 turbos I chose are for responsiveness rather than high power.

What are your intake tubes called? Looks like an air collector or something. I bet the turbos make some noise with those on it.

Clean ass engine bay though, awesome post!

Those are usually called velocity stacks. I got them from Vibrant who lists them as "aluminum bellmouth velocity stacks". You are absolutely right about the turbo noises being greatly enhanced with those...which is why I didn't want to take them off once I had them on. The comparison I made was that it sounds like an angry A10 Warthog which I mean as a good thing. I have very fine mesh stainless steel screen shaped into sort of a deep cup shape to increase open area and have them clamped where the stacks attach to the turbo inlets by the V-bands. Prior to this I had HKS filters like this pic below, which I still have but the good sounds cloud my better judgement so those haven't been on since the stacks were done.

..Omg thats incredible.

Thanks. I was at a roadcourse track day with some Ferraris and as sort of a tongue-in-cheek comparison to the highly regarded 599 GTO I made up this little chart:

@Nick 95 6sp Damn I just wish I had a GTE in general lol. are you going to sell it or hand it down to your boys?

But I seen those "Velocity Filter" On stock N/A motor is that better than a ordinary K&N ,AEM etc etc filter (Both Daily/Track)?

On a daily wouldnt that suck dirt?

Nick 95 6sp
10-16-2011, 11:04 AM
I don't see any chance of selling it anytime soon. I have my eye on eventually-possibly-maybe-who-knows-if-when getting a V10 R8 and twin turbo'ing it but I'm still getting too much satisfaction from this Supra to give that serious consideration. Not to mention if I was going to do that I'd hunt down a near perfect used R8 in the right color so I'm watching depreciation on those.

Like I said above, I have fine stainless mesh inside those stacks but even with that, I wouldn't recommend running "no filter" on a daily driver.

I'd like to see the new SC soon. You guys at the garage much? If this coming weekend is nice we can do Hooters and hopefully a few others will join us....only thing I have to work around is that I'm taking my dear wife, who by the way also has her own nice hooters, to a birthday dinner on Saturday early evening. Maybe on Sunday?

Oh yea, another thing I could use a hand with. I want to find a tunnel or nice underpass, preferrably not too long, where I can zoom by while somebody on the side of the road records my car sounds. Or maybe we can just do it with somebody riding shotgun. The tunnel on the N.E. Extension of the turnpike is too far so I'm looking for something closer. Not sure if there is a good vantage point but Vine Street between 9th Street and 22nd St.? How about some ideas?

Some of you may have seen the underpass vids by FabSpeed Motorsports. They do some real nice custom exhausts for exotic cars and usually end up recording the sounds by an underpass, but the one they use is too short for my tastes, plus that's their spot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtp2TGhKY0s

Hey Toyota folks, in my family we have a couple Toyotas. My wife has a Scion tC, which we are now looking to upgrade- 90% sure it will be an IS250 AWD. I got a Supra TT, making around 500whp on a PT67, stock long block, fuel, and Vipec EMS standalone. My current daily is a G35 Coupe, which I will be getting rid of for an IS300 and going NA-T (or something else- I can't hold on to dailies more than a year or so). I just want 350whp and still pass NYS OBD2 (via SAFC and O2 fooler) ridiculousness. I actually don't know much about IS300s or GE engines/electronics so still researching before pulling the trigger. Most likely waiting til Spring as it's already getting too late in the season

If the AE92 with the 2JZ exists, I don't see why not. That'd be a hell of a lot of custom work.

Let me make an mr2 thread to show some toyota love.. I may have a few questions about this winter's plans anyways.

My ex had a 94 celica ST, and I loved the car.. It was good on gas, pretty reliable, I like the exterior and the interior.. Then the engine went.. She sold it quickly to a buddy of mine who is planning a 3sgte swap into it... Im stoked about that..

If I could find a 6th gen GT/Auto/hatch in good shape, lower miles, I would love one for a DD.
