buy my d series turbo kit lol and there should be a stamp on the block right next to the transmission that will tell you what motor it is. if you want some more info shoot me a txt at 484-354-0995

Chances are, if your running the d15b8 (8-valve), a swap to the y7 head would get you better flow (16 valve). Swap to a civic EX intake manifold too.

I meant swap the INTAKE manifold, sorry if i didnt clarify. The d15 manifold is hilariously tiny and restrictive.

Gottcha so the horizontal on that I have I saw a d15 forsale and the intake looks just like my intake so it's more than likely a d15 with a d16y7 head and a stock d15 intake.. Hmmm are all the intakes and headers for a d-series all the same bolt pattern or are there some that are diff?

all 92-00 Civic Intake/exhaust manifolds, and heads/blocks for that matter have the same bolt pattern. You could take the intake manifold off of a 2000 Civic EX and put it on your 1992 civic CX. The exception is that OBD2 (96+) civics had an extra nipple or two for EVAP/EGR related lines. The bolt pattern for everything is the same.

The exception to all of this was the 96-00 Civic NON VTEC manifolds, which were a silly downdraft style manifold with the Throttle facing striaght up and the use of a 3-wire IDLE air control valve. Everything else was 2-wire.

Is the extra nipple right where the intake tube bolts on because mine has one there with nothing on it and was wondering what it was for lol..

I just checked again and where the motor bolts to the trans it says D16Y7 so I'm going to take it I have a d16 but what intake do I have? If it would help I can get some pics.

you probably have the stock manifold with newer engine. the y7 came with the air box on top of the manifold, and alos was found in the 96-00 civic dx and lx. if you are gonna build a track car just get rid of the non vtec d series. and as far as flow, for hondas the popular turbo right now is the precision 6262 or the garrett gt35r but the precision is a better price range to save a few dollars.
