I think it's suppose to run high 14s low 15s. I wouldn't get rid of the G35 for it. There is only a few people out there with them.

The front windshield is too slanted back for my tastes.

hey guys...i've been on the site for a while...just have been absent for like 3 months. But...my G35 is leased and i am looking to buy my next car. My lease is up in less than 3 months and my budget is like 20 - 25K. And i dont want a used car. So...i think that the Si is the best bang for the buck. i hear MANY great things about the car.
Im located in Holland, PA...right outside of NE Philly. Any meets going on? i havent been out to one of the meets yet...i def wanna come out and meet some people.
But...back to the civic...you can get them pretty loaded. Navi, 18 inch rims and summer tired, body kit, 180whp K20 engine, sunroof, etc. Although...the windsheild is pretty slanted...i still like the car all the way around. :)

you could do a lot with 20-25k....I dont wanna sound like a fanboy....

but would a WRX be out of the question? 2.5l puts out around 200whp stock..better gains to be bad from modding a turbo car.

also, I didnt realize that the new Si would be putting 180 to the road...is this true?

its really close to 180 like 177 or something like that

Bring out the saturn in me have you looked at the saturn red line? There really nice cars and put 210 on the ground stock. Plus a vendor on here is working on a whole mess of products for the LSJ motor that can be found in the saturn redline/cobalt SS

Acura RSX-S is would what I would do if I had 25K. I think they are redesigning the 2007 models but no one has seen any photos yet. The Si is nice too but I like the styling of the the Si better. WRX is also not a bad choice. Like Black said Red Line or Cobalt SS might be looking at.

leftover srt-4's should be about 18k and put more to the ground than the redlines, cobalts, and wrx's. you want bang for the buck.. there it is.

What? Sir go get you a G35 coupe, G35x, WRX, S2K, 92-X, or a 350z. Not to dump on civics cuz I like em but $20-$25 can be spent better than a new SI.(Now if this was the Euro type R that would be a different story all together)

Taint nothing wrong with a slightly used car especially if it comes with a warrantee. Cars depriciate the moment you drive them off the lot. Some people Drive them for a few days then decide they want something else.

Or better yet save your money and wait for the GTR to come to the U.S. It was supposed to be here this summer but plans were delaye (Nissan always playing with my emotions)

Wow...alot of options there guys. But, im not into American cars...so that gets rid of Saturn and SRT-4. And with the WRX, my friend has one...the interior is very plain. Im not in the car just for the speed. I want a car that's pretty nice all the way around.
As for getting a used car...its out of the question. Ive had a few friends get "Slightly" used cars plenty of times and something just had to go wrong. Its bad enough i put up with ALOT with my G. As for the RSX-s...Yea...they're nice...but they dont have Navi available...and my best friend has one. I dont feel like driving the same exact car as my best friend.

nothing wrong with gettin a used car...granted, a new one is better. you can always find one you like and have it checked by a trusted mechanic. Just a question...how old are you? you seem young (im young so im not trying to flame)...Just wondering

I'm 20. I thought about getting a used car...but i honestly i would much rather just get a new one. My lease is up in a little less than 3 months...i think im just gonna wait the 3 months to see what comes to me.

My 'new' car has depreciated by about $12,000 so far, and I still have 2 1/2 years of payments to make. And it isn't new anymore. On the other extreme, I could drive my used car for 30,000 miles and sell it for as much as I paid for it. Buying a new car is fun, but looking back at the numbers, I wouldn't do it over again.

I'm not saying you should buy a beater. If I was in the market for a car right now with that price range, I would look for a used E36 M3. There are plenty of them for less than $20,000 and some with less than 50,000 miles on them. It will depreciate much slower, so if something major needs to be replaced, you will still be ahead financially. That's a lot more bang for the buck over a new Civic SI.

Something like this one:

edit: after looking at that one, I realized the mileage is probably 117,000.

or one with navigation:

If I keep looking at these, I'm going to turn around and sell my Subaru.

went to scott honda in west chester about two weeks ago to take an '06 Si for a test drive and maybe trade the ep3 odyssey in.....no dice

"they are on a by order basis" the one lady said....one guy apparently ordered one around christmas and takes delivery in frickin' april...wtf...the only one I have seen to date was on I76 march 11th...

if that's the case you know they are probably getting a lot more than the 20K sticker price.....so I would consider other options....CarSense is really good for "slightly" used stuff

A word of advice on new cars. The first few years of a new car will have the most issues, some just as bad or worse than a used car. Say for instance you bought a new generation of a certain vehicle the first two years usually have recalls and little annoying neuances. But usually after the first two years the manufacture makes the neccessary adjustments. There are usually headlight and taillight changes made after those first two years. This goes for virtually every car that is mass produced. So if you want a new car I would not buy the first year of that generation.

For example the Audi TT was recalled in its early years because there were alot of roll-ver accidents. They made extensive suspension changes and fixed the issue as well as eliminating a large amount of understear.

This is just me, some people may agree others may not. I would sooner buy a nicer older car than an O.K. new car. ex: Used G35 coupe >Brand new Civic SI(complete with new car smell.)
