as i said in the other post- im going (bringing the car to work and going from there). might be meeting my friend there with a 67 shelby gt350 clone w/blower there, he is already making excuses however- that car is a mild setup, probably low 12's with a good trap.

petey, definetly go. i'll probably be there right after 5, in hopes of getting some runs in before the temperature really drops. you'll probably do better later in the night as the temp drops (and humidity) but im afraid the track will go away.

and don't let the morning rain deter you, if need be they'll dry the track since it is susposed to let up mid-morning or noon.

just got back- it got too cold out.

peteyturbo smoked me, my 12.9 to his 12.2  . traction issues on my part. petey was very consistent, 12.2's all night- my car was all over the place. first run = 12.1 to the second run 12.9 (against petey) and three 12.2's (all 110 and one 109 traps for me), a 12.4 and a 12.5 :help:. so much for consistency.

i guess i need warmer weather and more power huh?. i had a good time though and that's all that matters.

Did anyone see how a Blacck chevy SS pickup truck did with a turbo setup????
It is someone i know from around my way, for a big truck it is alright but he thinks its like some serious fast race car that no one can beat. Just wondering if anyone noticed his times or anything

sure is (looks at sig). 2.73's also. i have girdle and stud kit. everything is stock on the suspension, besides subframe connectors and adj panhard bar.

in good condidtions it'll run 12.1 @ 110 or 111 every time- i have a pile of like 10 slips all 12.1 from last season.

60fts (on a good run) are 1.67 to 1.69.

Na. He lives in the suburbs west of phila. I guess i would say he is average height/short. He isnt fat but he isnt a body builder. Black truck with a front mount and some rims. Has goofy ass stickers in his rear window.

wrong-

the most i could hope from gears is .2, and i doubt my rear would hold up because i'd only gain that from a harder launch. my stall speed is high enough (3800rpms) to negate getting gears at all, since my rpms flash to 3800 when i launch (when i hook  ) and then the shift extension is 4700rpms from 1-2 shift, around 4900 rpms from the 2-3 shift.

not to mention, the 2.73 gears are physically bigger, meaning more material and therfore stronger. this and less shock to the drivetrain helps me stick with a stock 10 bolt, stock suspension otherwise- plus i hook up (better) on the track and the street then i would with 3.73's, and i can go 80mph @ 2k rpms.

if my car were a mustang or a lt1 than i'd agree, gears would make a huge difference. hell, even if it were stick, but auto ls1's with big stalls are a whole different monster .

I can't wait to ditch my 2800 for a 3800 PI converter. Guy with a similar setup to mine was running one, flashes over 4K on the launch and on a 5400 shift his rpms never drop below 5K
