I need opinions so please say which and why.

I have 2 options (both would be connected to an Amp):

1) Run two 8" JL Audio (jl audio 8IB4 - 75w RMS) in sealed box.

2) Run two Infinity 6x9 speakers (100w RMS, 300w Peak) in rear deck.

NOW, separate question. If I were to run option 2, could I cut the wires running on the speakers to the tweeter and connect those to the original wires to the radio than connect the woofer part to the Amp?

what head unit do you have?

if you run the 2 subs, what rear speakers will you be running?

if you run the 6x9's, will you be running any subs?

are 6x9's in the rear the factory size for your car?

I have an (older?) Pioneer Premier head-unit

if you run the 2 subs, what rear speakers will you be running?

I will be running those same 6x9 as posted above but unamplified like they are right now.

if you run the 6x9's, will you be running any subs?

The 6x9 are already in just not amplified. I only have 1 amp right now and don't plan on buying another.

are 6x9's in the rear the factory size for your car?

By factory size I assume you mean from power standpoint. They came as 6x9 but the power rating for the original speakers was much lower.

run the subs on the amp, set your HPF and LPF on the pioneer headunit accordingly, enjoy.

Obviously the one is designed for Bass while the other not directly but just out of curiosity, why choose the subs rated at 75w RMS over the 6x9s rated at 100w RMS?

power ratings dont mean ****.

The 6x9 is a full range speaker, it will distort at higher volume lower frequencies. the sub is designed just as a bass speaker. if you look at the frequency response it will probably be something like 20hz-250hz (just pulling numbers out of the air) where the 6x9 frequency response is probably like 35hz-20khz

Good point. Guess I was looking at this kinda one sided

Subs I dont know how to read this one.. I assume lowest frequency is 37.5hz? And no high frequency is given?

FS: 37.5 Hz
QTS: 0.684
QES: 0.744
QMS: 8.484
VAS: 50.9 L
Xmax: 8.6 mm
SPL: 87.4 dB
Sd: 0.0198 m2
Re: 6.10 ohm
Z: 8 ohm
Pw: 75 Watts

If I pulled the right specs for the 6x9 --- 46 - 21k Hz

Ok someone drew this up to me, but I don't quite understand it. Does this mean for the yellow line it will take more volume to hit certain frequencys?

First question, this was made for me in WinISD

Here's your sonys in an optimum sealed (yellow) and optimum ported (green) box:
