So me and my buddy went down to atco tonight. It was a really slow night i guess so i decided to run. Its basically the first time ive drag raced my car, so i wasnt expecting much. Maybe a 13.9 at best or something, just hoping to break 13's
well my first run was a 14.9 w/o a launch........ GREAT! haha
then i ran a 14.1 w/ a slight launch
then i fouled
then a 13.75 @ 98.7, so i started getting happy,
Then a 13.59 @99.2 OMG! i was happy!
well i had a few more runs at around 13.5
then just as a quick last run b4 the track closed i ran a 13.45 @ 100.2!!!
R/T................. .007
60'.................. 1.912
330................. 5.625
1/8.................. 8.651
1000............... 11.239
1/4................. 13.457
MPH................ 100.22
ill scan the time slip later.
and i was against a non stock SRT-4 that did a 13.9 earlier that night when i did a 13.5
there also was a trans am that did 10.5 @ 130 and a wheelie hahaha
o yea, and im a basic cobb stage 2.
helix catless downpipe
Apex-i GTspec catback
Cobb stage 2 93oct
full interior, wagon, sub, spare, and some clothes and camera stuff haha

Thats great times! thats the Way to represent! Sounds fun. I need to find out what days Atco is open. i could have went last night, but i have to fix my driveshaft from rubbing first. PITA. I want to see what my car can do b4 it comes apart.

yes, please do!
you see, people have done better than me consistently, with less mods. even with just a $40 mbc, mike went faster than me. i guess you could call it driver error, even though my 60' wasnt that bad... its just painful to hear when poeple blow by me! i really am happy for you though, that's awesome!
i know my car has mid to low 13s in it, i just refuse to beat the crap out of the tranny to prove it... not until i have a beater!!

I know this black one that has the 3.8t from a GN in it, fully built that runs low tens. Its sick. Did it have the ram air hood?

I am planning on going to the track for the first time this season...I know low 13s are possible on AP stage 2....even heard of the guy hitting a 13.0 on a basic stage 2 setup.
GC8...you arent on stock tires are ya???

Ash you gotta trade in that UTEC for an Accessport!!

Nice job!
I'm having trouble deciding on my next mod, already got the accessport so stage 2 is sooo close. :help:
OWENthatsmyname
03-08-2006, 11:31 PM
i was running on my 16x7 rota slipstreams which are wrapped in hankook RS2's
very sticky and really light.
accessport is a great mod!
i know of a couple people hitting 13.2's w/ a fairly basic stage 2 set up (TBE, UP, pulley, K&N filter) pretty consistently and i know that people used to hit 13.0 back in the day when cobb had the injen CAI map, but im not sure about the current maps.
how hard do you think it is to get a 1.7 60ft? im thinking if i hit that i might be able to hit a 13.2 ID BE PUMPED!

PLEASE use caution and do not get overzealous with the launch. Your trans will thank you.

1.7 60' might be asking for a little too much. Probably only need to cut a ~1.85 to get a 13.3. small changes in the 60' have a bigger reflection in the ET.

yea i know, ive been fairly easy on it so far. Im not trying to break anything right now, and im actually REALLY happy with my times.
maybe i should just wait til i get some more power adders and take it easy for a while

o wow really? then ill shoot for that! all i want is to eventually hit like a 12.9. thats after a cobb stage 2.5 set up.

i have no clue, im just awesome like that.
i had full interior, including spare and all, also had a sub in the back and some random other crap. i didnt take anything out of my car for the runs............ its my STi scoop, thats what it is haha

OWENthatsmyname
03-09-2006, 12:02 AM
i love 16s! 16s are the shiz! haha. im guessing it would make enough of a difference. i dunno. i know plenty of people on 17s who still run great times.
i dunno, i dont like straight lines that much
What other mods can you do to max out a Stage 2?
I have basic stage 2 plus uppipe. Looking to get a short ram and go all silicone hosing for intercooler and turbo inlet. What else can I really do without upgrading the turbo as far as power is concerned?
OWENthatsmyname
03-09-2006, 12:29 AM
no short ram! will mess up the map.
u can do uppipe, lightweight pulley, i/c hoses, turbo inlet, header(might lose some power until a protune though), spark plugs
and dont do an intercooler on stage2 set up. heard bad things about it! and cobb advises against it
PROTUNE!

GC8, how you been?
Nice times there. Hopefully ill be in WC one of these nites. hit me up 6109098669. peace.
P.S. If you were driving the M3, what 1/4 times do u think ull get?
no short ram! will mess up the map.

I know a few people that couldnt hit target stage 2 boost without a short ram. There are a few known shortram brands that dont ruin cobb maps...Perrin is one, and Cobbs shortram wont either. As long as the inlet diameter isnt larger than stock, it shouldnt mess up the map. Also, I want a short ram for when I eventually do a protune.
Ive also heard of people using aftermarket TMIC with stage 2 with no problems.

i've had both the turboXS intake and injen intake on my stage 2 without any blatently obvious problems. i don't have an EGT, so i can't say for sure, but it's been over a year and a half since i put on the first aftermarket intake.

With my mods I went 13.3 @ 101.8mph completly pig rich after 4000 rpm. I cut 1.82-84 60's. That was launching at 5,500-6k rpm slipping the clutch. I don't think you want to go as hard as me! God I can't wait to get back to racing again.
OWENthatsmyname
03-10-2006, 04:32 PM
yea, i need an uppipe! im gonna try launching at around 4500-5000. im going to cecil tonight, so we'll see. im try to get a 1.8x 60ft. then i should hit a 13.3.
HuffRex
03-10-2006, 04:51 PM

yea............. at cecil i only got 2 runs in, it was extremely packed and i got down there a lil late. it took me about 3.5hours to get the 2 runs in.
my best was a 13.8 @100............ i spun all the way through first. i was pissed! that would of def. been my 13.3 if not better run.
