So I've decided on the route I'm going with my exhaust. I already have FRPP axle back. I like the tone it gives, no drone, but just isn't loud enough. I'm going to get some Mac long tubes and a prochamber. Will be welding my stock cats back in also with some O2 extenders to help cut away rasp.

I also want to do cutouts for those times when I want the car to just scream. Does anyone have any experience with them. The 2 big companies I see are DMH and QRT. I found some on eBay but they are about the same price so I'd rahter stick with the top 2. Any advise?

Don't get electric cut outs because I feel like they will end up not working eventually.

That too ^^

Doug's headers from summit are a good buy from what I have heard, and the gate style valve seals better...

I don't think I'v ever seen many posts of the cutouts failing? I could be mistaken though as it wasn't something I really paid any attention to.

i've never heard of cut outs failing either, but like palm said i don't do much research on the topic. if they fail just re-do them. it's not like they fail often and are hard to do

I installed Thru-Hall-Exhaust on a boat same thing, and they were electronic cutouts, If your concerned about the beating the electronics will get while being under the car I would go with something along the marina line, same basic idea but maybe a little more $. Just my opinion but I would go with the O/R pro chamber and get a tune to delete the OBDII codes, you’ll pick up a few more horses and keep that muscle car sound from the Headers. I did the MAC LT’s and O/R H pipe, and I am very pleased. Regardless let us know how it turns out!

I had no cats on the GTO. I won't do it again. Smelled like **** and my exhaust tips were black within 20 miles. Not worth the headache for 1-2 HP gain. I'll probally just stick with the DMH low profile cutouts. I highly doubt they will be an issue.

I would say go with the catted SLP. Unfortunately they don't have the one for stock manifolds that is a 3 piece design for your year so if you have stock manifolds and connect it, you can eventually still go to long tubes with the same piece since the other tubing disconnects.

Can you weld in the stock cats if you have long tubes? I thought they weren't the right size and shape to fit easily under the car because of the angled outlet. A pair of aftermarket high flow cats should work well enough for emissions purposes.

Unless you want to do some custom exhaust work you'll have to get a dif. mid pipe, my MAC O/R was $150 shipped.
