Well this started about 2 weeks ago. My amp's Stopped turning on so i checked all the wiring for any issues found a loose ground. So I redid that and still no luck. But this is what i found.

I just checked the volts with the car running at idle and i got 14.3 @ the battery, and 9.2 @ the amp's and 8 @ the remote wire. Now i did not check the main line at the distribution block just at the amps themselves. I did try the to "jump" the amp's but that didn't work. Now that could be due to lack of volt's.

I have a 2gauge main power line to the distribution block then from there its 4 gauge to the amp's. Same with the ground. Now what I don't understand is this has been the same wiring for a little over a year and the amp's even longer. Both amp's combined are 1450 watts. I had now problems till now (besides replacing the battery the same time i did the wiring. So I'm lost now. not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

For the first time in many years of installing car audio I am stumped.
:confused::confused:
Once this issue is fixed I will be adding a cap to my set up.

SO I went and tested the power wire in different area's. From the battery to the fire wall I'm getting 14.3V (car @ idle). From the inside firewall to distribution block 9.8V. Car not running i get 12.5 all the way around.
Now I checked the remote wire on the back of the radio and I'm getting 12.5V (Car not running) but when i check it at the amps its 9V.
Also with the car off I get 12.5v at the amps, now with it running and head unit off I'm getting around 14-14.5v on the power wire, when I turn the head unit on thats when the volts drop at the amps and the power line. SO I'M GOING CRAZY TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT. HEEEELLLLLP

Id go over and redo the power, ground, remote turn on, and acc on the head unit

Yeah I plan on redoing all the wires and get a new head unit too. Cause Its about 10 years old anyway.
