This isnt a "What should i buy" thread, myself included hate those threads and im not here to ask which car i should buy. Im simply here to ask people who have owned these cars or people that have more knowledge than me with each of these cars. Im looking to buy another car as a project and would like some input on the tunability, aftermarket, reliability, ect. with each of these vehicles. Price range is ~$25k and under 50k miles, i have found at least few a of each of the cars mentioned so i know its possible. Also this will not be a daily so no need to get in a "AWD for winter" discussion. Please keep rude and off-topic posts to yourself, thanks!

Some of what i said above IMO, others are somewhat known "facts", what ever you care to enlighten me on feel free. Also if you have any other recommendations feel free to bring them up, looking for mainly AWD or RWD. Thanks guys!
Currently leaning towards Evo 9, Cobra, and 335i.

Why is rwd a con? Proper set up cobras will pull ridiculous 60 foot times.

I would possibly choose any of those just because like you said they all have their pros and cons. If I had to pick it would be either an Evo or a Sti (but you have done that already) another option is a Cobra, if your only using it for a weekender a Cobra or Evo would do the job.

Im a dsmer so I say evo 9 the tens arent as quick because of the new transmissions and its not a 4g63 anymore. and I would definitely want awd. and the 9's come in the MR which is 6 speed.

Wheelspin and me being a virgin to RWD are the cons for me. Not cons in general.

Yea the X's are nicer as far as interior vs. the 9's (IMO) and the 9's MR 6 speed is something i'd like to stay away from, hence the specification of the GSR and SE models.
Keep the feedback coming guys

Also, reason i posted "pricey aftermarket" for some cars is that if its N/A (350/370, G35/G37, S2000 ect.) it would be being built (motor, F/I) after bolt ons are accomplished. Just to clarify that...
Is ~$25k your budget, or just your price range for the initial purchase of the vehicle?
Some of these, like you've mentioned, you can find for under $20k. Whatever is remaining after purchasing can be put towards modding. For example, if you had to choose between a $15k S2000 with $10k mods and a stock $25k STi (numbers are only for example and do not reflect real prices), which would you rather have?
I haven't driven let alone owned any of these cars before, so I don't really have an informed opinion. Of that list, though, I'd go with an early AP2 S2000 before they introduced drive-by-wire. However, for you, I think the Evo IX would be a good choice.

The $ 25k is just the purchase price of the car itself, now though the more and more I research I'm finding some things I like and don't like. Like the lack of aftermarket for the 335i and the cobras interior...yuck. The evo 9 is still number one but im gonna be looking at the G37/370z alittle closer.

Subaru STi 08+---------- Only if u really want it over the others, cuz like u said, uve been there done that....I personally wouldnt get another sti right away.
Pros:
-Boxer Rumble
-Bulletproof 6 Speed
-What im used to
-Good platform to start with
-AWD
Cons:
-Expensive for +400awhp
-Already been here
-Not an Evo lol
Mustang Cobra 03/04--------- Great choice if u want a fast car with a lot of easy potential, definitely the fastest of ur listed options, deff kind crap on the interior though. But if u just want fast as hell, get this hands down
Pros:
-Easy Big Power
-Bulletproof Tranny
-Bulletproof Motor
-Exhaust/SC'er symphony
Cons:
-RWD (IMO/traction issues)----------------- Learn to handle it, its not that hard just got to a parking lot and practice, and teach urself to be more mindful of what ur right foot is doing, and what the car is doing. Hone ur senses.
-Weak Interior
-Live rear axle-------- Not on these, they had IRS on the cobras only
-Heavy---------- 3300-3400lbs is on the lighter side of most of the cars in question
-Softer suspension--------------- One of the easiest things to change about a car, not even worth mentioning here
BMW 335i Coupe
Pros:
-Sounds great w/ exhaust
-Decent power w/ aftermarket
-BMW quality
Cons:
-Pricey----------------- This will be a continuing theme if u get this car, yea its very nice in all ways......but ur paying for it
-Maintenance
-Pricey aftermarket
-RWD------------------- Same as above, RWD is easy and preferable if u know what ur doing with it.
Mitsubishi Evolution 9 (GSR/SE)------------- Great option if u dont want a X more for some reason.......namely weight
Pros:
-Bulletproof motor
-Seats
-Looks good
-Big aftermarket
Cons:
-Only 5 speed------------- 6 speed if u can find an MR
-Lag with the 2.0
-Lifeless exhaust note (IMO)
Mitsubishi Evolution X ------------ Great car, hard to argue with 370whp from basic mods alone, and ur well aware of what a goo package a fast awd sedan is from ur scoob
Pros:
-Great looks
-Nice interior
-Takes well to mods
Cons:
-Slower than Evo 9
-4B11T not as proven as 4G63----------- True in that it hasnt been around as long, but it seems to be doing well
-Weak 5 speed-------------------- This is very true, it completely drops off when u shift into 5th lol
-Lifeless exhaust (IMO)
Infinity G37
Pros:
-Great looks
-6 Speed
-Great exhaust
Cons:
-Pricey aftermarket
-Pricey
-Maintenance
------------------------- For both VQ37 cars, theyre fun but if u want 400whp from them ur gonna have to spend alot to boost them, cuz they aint making more than 350 (generous) without boost. Fun cars though, but theres better ones on this list.
Nissan 370Z
Pros:
-Same as Infinity
Cons:
-Pricey aftermarket
Honda AP2 S2000------------- This is quite different from anything else here. If u want a fun roadster then this is good, but u put rwd and vert under cons.....so u clearly dont.......forget the S2k then bro
Pros:
-Looks
Cons:
-Vert
-Pricey to mod
-RWD
Volvo C30------ Very fun car, but again quite different from anything else ur considering here, and like the S2k u dot really seem to want this kind of car......not over the others anyway
Pros:
-Love their look
-Exhaust
-Decent aftermarket
Cons:

Def agree with most of the things you said, barring the Evo and Cobra everything on the list will cost big money to make over 400whp. If thats the case the STi would be in line again BUT the big thing with that would be trying something new.
Or wait for the Subaru/Toyota sports car to hit.

Not to jerk you off or anything but you were in the back of my mind when i thought about the X lmao.
The 370z has really grabbed my attention and that is now in the top three....sadly i want a complete car as in performance/interior/exterior/visceral feeling ect. and the Cobra really doesnt make the list on some of those. If all i wanted was big HP i'd be all over the Cobra...but the thought of me driving around in that interior just irks me...especially with nothing i could do about it. The 370z seems to meet a lot if not all of my wants. The interior is nice, i like the exterior styling...large hips...mmmmm....lol Great exhaust note, 6MT, 4 pot 14'' brake set up on the sports models (only model i'd consider) and can make decent HP with bolt ons. Yes boost will cost money and any real boost will mean i built motor, 6-8psi on stock VQ37 is all it can handle. But if i was going to build the STi like that i'll have no problem building the 370z like that. This def isnt set in stone though.....Evo 9 GSR or SE is def still up there at the top.

Doesn't seem unreasonable. But keep in mind u have to pay to boost an unboosted car. Its alot of work and money that everyone says they will do, but it rarely gets done cuz its alot of money all at once and theres alot of quirks to work out after its done.
Whereas with the Evo or the stang, theyre already boosted so gains will come easier, and the ECUs are already programmed for forced induction, and the plumbing is all there already. Its just easier and will be more reliable if u want that kind of power.
Just try not to turn into a douche if u get the mustang, and look into some herbal supplements to try and counteract the 3" shrink in penis size that occurs within one week of signing the title.

lmao well subtracting three puts me at average...wonder how the misses would feel about that lmao....nothing is set in stone at this point though and the Evo is def still a big player.
The 370z doesnt seem as quick as it should, this is purely from watching accel vids on youtube lol but when i think back to the STi that was ~300aawhp to the 332 crank hp in the 370z....it just doesnt have that wow factor....hmmm and paying 7-8k to run low 12s with 400-450rwhp....that wouldnt be cutting it either. Hell 335i's run lower with less invested. Good thing i have some time to think about this lol. One thing is that the Cobra's are the fastest car on this list hands down stock to stock modded to modded lol Shame their interiors are from a garbage bin.

What is the aftermarket looking like for 335i's? I've seen chips, downpipes, catbacks and intakes. Any turbo kits out yet?

The Evo IX wouldn't be nearly as big of a transition from an STi, but is still different. I feel like going from a Subaru to a Cobra would be a big jump, but maybe that doesn't bother you. What kind of use do you plan to get out of the car? Since you said it won't be a DD I'm guessing it may see some track use. Both the Evo and Cobra can be great drag cars, but I wouldn't want to take a high powered Cobra around turns (especially being used to a well handling awd car). If it were me, I would consider what is the best all around car and what can be the fastest relative to the money spent on it. To me this would be the Evo IX. They are easy to work on compared to some of the cars you are considering and can be made stupid fast for much less then most mentioned. The only drawback at all to me is that they are a sedan (I'm ultimately a fan of 2 doors and 2 seats for a non daily driven performance car), but that would be nowhere near the top of my list of priorities.

The 370 is a quick car. It has a very linear power band (though, it is sort of iffy down low) and doesn't feel fast off the line. From experience though, you look down and **** yourself at how fast you're going.
Off your list, I'd say the 370 will cost you the most, though. Don't fool yourself. You're going to spent at least 28k for a well maintained 370. You're going to spend 15k on top of that for any sort of -well done- FI setup. I heard you mention wheels -- unless you take a weight hit (the sport package wheels are forged Rays), you're going to be dropping 3.5k+ on wheels.
The sport brakes are great for the street, but fade on the track and will need to be replaced if you do things right. It goes on and on.
I would not suggest this car to someone with a power modding itch unless they had a very large budget.
You could totally do a few suspension and supporting track mods and you'd have a very awesome track rat, though.
If you want power, I'd go for the X or I'd say **** it and get a 2011 Mustang GT barebones and laugh at everything else on your list.
edit: if I had unlimited money, I'd have a 370 and an X, fwiw.

Im a dsmer so I say evo 9 the tens arent as quick because of the new transmissions and its not a 4g63 anymore. and I would definitely want awd. and the 9's come in the MR which is 6 speed.
If you were a "dsmer" you wouldnt be recommending a 6 speed...
everything else i agree with

Where's this talk of the Evo X having a weak transmission come from? Here's the facts:
http://www.jackstransmissions.com/pages/evox-review
It's the best Mitsubishi 5 speed transmission ever made.
As far as your choices, they really boil down to if you want power or handling or both.
If you just want big power, get the Cobra.
If you just want great handling, get the S2000.
If you want both, get the Evo 9 or X.
The rest aren't as good.
Easy decision once you drive the cars. The 08+ STi, 370Z and Cobra will fall by the wayside once you get behind the wheel of the S2000 or Evo, IMO. The Cobra makes amazing power for cheap but uses the old SN195 chassis and just isn't as fun to drive.

The only drawback at all to me is that they are a sedan (I'm ultimately a fan of 2 doors and 2 seats for a non daily driven performance car), but that would be nowhere near the top of my list of priorities.
i like the idea of a two eater in the 370z but the best most cost effective choice is most likely the Evo 9.

Termi/Mustangs have an insane aftermarket and are really cheap to mod(why I just bought an 05 GT). Termis have IRS so they actually drive decent. You aren't going to pull STi/Evo turns but you won't regreting it either. They can also fit huge rear tires very easy. I'm planning on 275s and thats small. I see people at 305s all the time with a 10" wide wheel. Find a convertable and that will add to the fun(just get sub frame connectors). The sound of a termi whine with a nice exhaust is near the top of my list for best sounds ever.
Hell, you could just buy a 03/04 GT for $11k and fully mod it and be complete for probally arround $25k.

Termi has an IRS rear, 4V heads, supercharger, 6 speed... there is probally more with suspension/brakes but that gives you the gist of things.
Not enough for me to justify paying $15k when I can go aftermarket and get better/higher HP parts for about the same.

After looking over your list of cars and price range, I have a few thoughts. What do you plan to do with the car? Are you going to autoX? Drag race? Turn it into a show car? Do track days? Just want a fun daily driver?
You want under 50,000 miles and under $25,000 and are looking at these cars:
Subaru STi 08+
Mustang Cobra 03/04
BMW 335i Coupe
Nissan 370Z
Honda AP2 S2000
Any reason why you wouldn't get a new 2011 V6 Mustang with the V6 performance package? You can get one for well under $25K and Ford has $1500-$2500 in rebates offered now. It has a warranty and as long as you leave the engine internals stock, warranty claims shouldn't be an issue if you ever have a problem. The car has close to 50/50 weight distribution and can run on 87 octane gasoline. It also gets about 30 MPG highway. I'm sure you have seen the latest Car & Driver Lightning lap results. Even with bouncing off the stock 114 MPH speed limiter, it was a hair slower than the Nizmo 370Z, same lap times as the 350Z track, and it was faster than the lancer Evo MR, Lancer Evo IX MR, BMW 135i, 2008 and 2011 WRX STi, WRX, S2000 CR, and Mazdaspeed3. It was only 2 seconds per lap slower than the 335i. Add an intake and tune to get rid of the speed limiter and I'm sure it could run a second or two faster. The V6 Mustangs seem to gain about 20 HP at the wheels with an intake and a tune and it also knocks a few tenths off their 1/4 mile time. The aftermarket on these cars is already growing and most parts are inexpensive when compared to many imports. Since they share suspension and brakes with the Mustang GT's there is already a wide choice of aftermarket parts available.
Also, any reason you aren't looking at a used 2005-2010 Mustang GT? There are quite a few for sale int he $15K-$22K range that have mild mods and they have a huge relatively inexpensive aftermarket. Before I bought mine, I wasn't even considering getting one until I test drove it and comapred the price of the car and modifications to other cars I was lookng at. They are a great performance per dollar value. I've also used it as a daily driver through the past few winters with no issues, all I added was a spare set of stock wheels and good snow tires.

At the moment im not entirely sure what will be done with it. Unlike the STi, lets for example pick my number one choice right now the Evo 9, i wouldnt be so into the exterior of the car so tracking would def be an option, never really been into autoX but who knows since it wont be a daily. Never was a big fan of any Mustang besides the 03/04 terminators and i found 2011 GT's for just over my price range which caught me as a surprise and yes tons of V6 Mustangs...but in my mind, this is purely IMO, if im buying a performance car...i want the best available hence STi over WRX, v8 over v6, 911 over caymen ect. ect. jsut the way i think when it comes to purchases like this.

Before you go much further, just do yourself (and all of us) a favor and test drive the cars. You're picking between such a diverse kind of driving experience with all of these that the decision is going to end up boiling down to a much, much fewer selection of cars. Only YOU can answer which you prefer to drive and only YOUR opinion behind the wheel matters since it is YOUR car. I can tell you right now, that no matter what you do to a Mustang's suspension or chassis (SN195 ESPECIALLY) it will never have the feel of an Evo. I can also tell you that a 370z will never feel the same as an S2000 or how the STi does not feel like the Evo (even when you put thousands into the suspension...I know somebody who once did that).

Seems like its coming down to a Evo 9 GSR/SE,Cobra or a 370z. Evo would be a weekly kind of build with lots of new parts...370z would be a slow build with big purchases...6-10k for a partial TT kit....ouch. The Cobra would be fun and has some potential but the interior is really holding me back  The 370z's seem to move boosted....but thats a lot of time and money for 500rwhp. I have some time to really think about this and gain knowledge about each of the vehicles listed.

I would go with the 370 which has a big future, an evo which is a great car with an excellent past, or a c5 z06 if you want american muscle.

Buy something done and just drive it, if your thinking of an Evo buy a built 8 and be done with it. From what I rea it seems your set on awd that's your best bet buy something someone else already spent all the money on.

Quite the contrary for me though...i'd want something as stock as possible and have all my own parts in it.
As of right now im leaning towards the 370z surprisingly enough. I wouldnt mind a full bolt on, sick stanced 370. Then eventually TT it.
Im not worried about having the highest HP, someone will always have more money, resources, and POWER than what you can come up with. I've only ever driven a select couple of cars and it will come down to me wanting a nice car that i can piece together and maybe one day make into something special. The mod list for the 370 would be pretty short compared to the plans i had set up for the Evo but i need to learn more about the 370 and its aftermarket.

It all depends what you want your main course to be, looks or performance. The 370, and the Cobra are not ugly, or slow; but the cobra is way faster and not as apealing to the eye. the 370 on the other hand is not as fast out of the box with alot of potential (~15k worth of mod, turbo suspension, exhaust etc...) and has the looks to go along with it....... I would get the cobra because a sweet ass interior isnt #1 on my wish list for a car, thats just me tho.

What do you want out of it? What are you planning to do with it? How much money are you going to dump into it?
Its also funny how people think 335s are expensive to mod. Since when? I think this is one of the cheapest cars I've ever owned to mod. Chip and 2 filters , $400 , made an 350/370 up from 266/277 stock. Add dps and fmic, 400/400, add meth or racegas upto 450. Thats all stock turbos, stock fuel system stock everything. As far as the fuel pump issues, who cares, some people have them, I have never had my pump replaced. The pumps are waranteed till 120k, and as far as service goes, I have yet to be treated better. Its drives great when you get rid of the ****ty runflats, its handles and "feels" really good. Big aftermarket, lots and lots of wheels, lots of suspension stuff, exterior stuff is probably cheaper than Subaru and evo stuff. Overall out of your list its the nicest car to be inside out of everything listed.
Personally I'm sick and tired of evos, everyone has one, atleast the 9s. A good friend has a 10, while a lot nicer, its still cheap inside minus the recaros, cheap plastic, etc. Definetely not all that quick stock, definitely not that cheap to mod.
370z are cool in my book. I think the Termi cobras are probably one of my favorite cars, great mod potential, amazing sound.
In general RWD is way more fun, the whole snow thing is meh, I got around fine in mine and all I had on it was continental DWS's , it didnt move like my Subaru did but I got to where I needed to go fine, even in somewhat deep snow.
Best word of advice, go drive everything, if you dont love it, move on.

hmmm good information on the 335i.
Got a chance to look up close and personal tonight at the exact 370z i'd buy. White with the sport package...car is astonishing in my book....couldnt drive it cause they were closing but its def at the top of my list now. They only started making them in 09 and i want the performance package so im going to have to pay more than the $25k budget...but not by much. And the thing about the Z is that i wouldnt have such a huge mod list compared to some of the other cars....simple mods that are 3-4k each (assuming quality coils will be pricey, and wheels are pricey at those sizes no matter what i buy) and then when im ready and have had enough fun after bolt ons......twin turbo it.
Stay tuned

has anyone mentioned a C5 ZO6? Cars are just plain badass, can be had in great shape for well within your budget, have bulletproof motors and 6-speeds and come only ~50 whp away from your 400 whp goal from the factory. Plus they've got a huge aftermarket and are relatively inexpensive to mod.
If I was considering a RWD daily and didn't mind not having a back seat it would be at the top of my list. IMO they've got way more potential as an all-around street/track machine than a 370z could ever hope for.

Geez CK, making me log in to post about the X, haha. The 5 speed is weak how? Yeah, 5th gear is lame, but how often do you drive flat out in 5th? It's a nearly bulletproof tranny, a new set of diff pins and a less cheesy clutch, and you're good to go. In fact, I'd say it's as strong as the STI trans, easily. I wouldn't call the 4B11 a con either, the 4g63 was showing its age, and so far the 4B11 has proven to be just about as strong, stock for stock. Modded, the 4B11 will need sleeves for big power, but can easily make 400+ whp without. Go test drive one at Masano if you want, I test drove a few there.
Ever driven a C30? Such a damn nice car, with a wicked exhaust note. Too bad about it being FWD, if it weren't for that, I'd have seriously considered one.

The viewing space is different when I test drove, but not something that really bad, just different.
whats going on man...im 6'2" and 205 athletic build....this is my first 2 door sports car and was and fitment is no issue...i actually dont even have the seat all the way back..and the seat can recline even more...headroom is not an issue and i for one have no issues with blindspots or the mirrors or windshields...i love this car and the interior is amazing...i reccomend test driving one bc everyones opinion is different but from one big guy to another i have no issues
I'm 6'2'' and I don't have any problem with headroom. Just watch your head getting in and out of the car.
Hi, I'm 6'3" and skinny, but with an athletic build (shoulders). I have a short lower body and long legs. After putting the seat all the way back, I am just fine. But if you have wide shoulders, you might have an issue with the backrests, as they are pretty narrow. Even for a skinny guy like me, they took some getting used to.
Just my $.02.
6,2 215lb noo problems AT all
6ft.2 here and plenty of room.
6 foot 2 here, 225 pounds. pure asian. not that it matters. what matters is that I fit and its really comfortable.
6' 3" 225 lbs here...I'm all legs so I did have to get used to the high clutch! But no problems now. My seat moves around a bit though...that's kind of annoying!
ha ha ha shorties. :)
I'm 6'5" and mostly legs. I think I fit better in the 370s I've test driven than my 350. The blind spots take a couple hundred miles to get used to in the 350Z. I'm still looking for my 370 but I bet they will take as long or longer to get accustomed to.
6'4 200lbs, no problems.... I fit better in the Z than I do in the Camaro

if it's not a daily what's wrong with buying a clean older car and putting the rest into making it clean and fast, the way you want it? 25k will go a long way, especially if you're looking at cars that have already been modded.

Ok if u want good sounds then u gotta go to the right country for it. Japan aint bad, but this one shares its birthplace with Luciano Pavarotti. In this automotive game u gotta go big, and if u want speed style and sound with some class thrown in, then Steve, u want a Maserati.

I mean, the 370Z is a fantastic car bro, but well, this is kind of in a different league all together. And just look at that picture of it in an epic drift......now picture urself in the drivers seat.....and all the bitches in the stands would be SOOOOOOO WET and just throw themselves at u all the time. It looks like a Volvo from the back, and a plain ol' sedan from the front. The badge on the front doesn't give it some miraculous beauty. It's boring, especially when you consider what their designers are capable of.
Don't you think there is a reason why it didn't hold its value?
As a performer, it doesn't shine compared to a modern day performance car. Sorry. The only reason to buy it is to say "hey, look at my ~Maserati~" which is like buying a car to say "hey, look how I'm a ~douche~" -- especially when said car is used, heavily depreciated, and just not very impressive.

I think the cost to the twin turbo is going to make you gulp a bit once you really get into it.
I'm not impressed by big power builds. Making a lot of horsepower is one of the easiest things you can do to a car.

I won't have a problem with it, its not in the near future of the plans. And I'm not obsessed with power, if I was I would buy a Cobra. I'll be more than happy with bolt ons and be able to go out and enjoy the car with the addicting exhaust note in the backround. When I get "bored" I'll look into the TT set up...
I see this topic is already pretty much done, since the OP made his decision, but if OP wants, come get a ride in my 04 Cobra and see if you don't want one lol.
Termi has an IRS rear, 4V heads, supercharger, 6 speed... there is probally more with suspension/brakes but that gives you the gist of things.
Not enough for me to justify paying $15k when I can go aftermarket and get better/higher HP parts for about the same.
Yes suspension, T-56 trans, motor, there are significant differences.
I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say you can go aftermarket and get better/higher hp for the same. If you are talking about parts for an 05 GT or even any GT prior to the 2011's vs parts for the terminators, you are sadly mistaken. The old 2 valve GT motors and the newer 3 valve motors will not make even close to the kind of power that a terminator makes with bolt ons. Trust me I know. I've owned both, and have heavily modded both. Just my $0.02.

I understand you like Mustangs, and that's all fine, well, and good. My buddy has a 600HP 5.0, and my other buddy has a 500HP Cobra. I've had a ride and driven the Cobra several times. And honestly, they DON'T impress me. They are fast for sure, but the interior is bland, and they just don't feel like a driver's car.
And for the OP, it all depends on what your looking at. If you want a DAILY DRIVEN car that's good in all weather conditions, consider the STI/EVO. They are both excellent cars, are fast out of the box, handle well, and aren't ridiculously expensive to mod if you choose to do so. If you don't drive it every day, and wouldn't mind something RWD -- go for a 370Z. I've driven one personally, and it was a blast. I'm biased to a 20+ year old 300ZX (I've owned 7), but that is the closest in terms of feeling like it "wraps around you" that I've gotten in a car. The interior is beautiful, it handles great, and makes good numbers stock as well. Add an exhaust, drop it, and add some nice lightweight wheels and your set. Good luck with your endeavor.

If you want something fast out of the box, just buy a C5 Z06.

I'm kinda the same way since i like twisties more than straight lines, but i do like me some power lol. Notice how i said 500 and 800 lol.
I'll def be coming to your for some suspension help when the time comes, im looking at the KW V3s and they look like they would get the job done, either that or BC's....
(Im really just kidding about the BC's dont rip my head off lol)
Get Ohlins.

Benefits for a street driven car over V3's? I'm assuming there 3k + so is there really a thousand dollar difference for a car that won't be tracked or daily driven? Simply aging that's all...
Ok, thats cool. Not sure why your post sounds like you're trying to be a dick, but sure. I'm NOT impressed with 300zx either, whats your point? I was simply stating the OP could come have a ride if he wanted to see 1st hand the Cobra. It was more or less a joke. But at least he could see for himself. But I'm not going to give my opinion on cars that I might not be familiar with or cars that weren't on the list. I also own an SRT8 Jeep, but I didn't say anything about that. I'd like to know what exactly is a "drivers" car to you.
Personally, I wouldn't have chosen a 370Z. I've had the pleasure of driving one, and also almost bought a 350Z back in the day, and they just weren't for me.
Interior definitely isn't the greatest, but then again, there are a lot of cars who's interior isn't that great. Not to mention, you are talking a what, 6 year or newer car (370z) interior versus a 2003/04 interior.
Have you seen the interiors of 99-02 WS6? They aren't the best either. What about similair year Vettes? They are better, but still not that great. If you want to rip on interior, at least compare on a little more even of a scale.
The interior sucks for the most part compared to todays standards, but 7 years ago it really wasn't too different from a lot of other cars in that price range/category. I'd rather have a mechanically rock solid platform to build on, then a pretty interior.

Yeah, not sure if this is a great idea for his price range. KW V3s are a great street/track coilover, and the best thing you can buy for the 370 under 2k. In fact, if you shop around you can pick up a set for 1700 or so.
Cheapest I see Ohlins for is 3.3k -- a pretty big jump. I'm not sure you'd notice the difference(s) unless you were driving on the very edge.
BC ER (not BRs) are also used by quite a few guys who appear to be pretty picky, although I have done 0 research on them. They might be worth looking into.

lol i have now geez thats nuts.
The sound that the VQ engine makes is euphoric. I dare say I like it more than the Subaru rumble. I could never own a 350/370 because I would always be in it listening to the exhaust.
EDIT:
I must say, the VQ sounds like Chewbacca jacked up on speed and coke.

The guy bought Bride seats for a Subaru, I'm not worried about a 1k difference in price.
BC's don't even belong printed on the same page.
