Yeah, people on my Evo forum are saying that they're probably restructuring.
Who knows. All I know is that any orders anyone had with them have been canceled and refunded.

If they would've charged half or even 2/3 of what they charged for their pieces they would still be in business. I understand they are a higher quality but their profit margins were still ridiculous on certain parts they barely paid jack to make.

ARC satisfied a niche in the import market. People bought ARC parts for aesthetic appeal and status, not performance. Their high pricing was key to maintaining this brand power that they created, like Burberry or Diesel or BMW.
So the comments above are like GAP shoppers complaining about Hugo Boss.

I don't really see anyone complaining. What I do see are people who value their hard-earned money and don't understand why someone would pay 3 times the price just for a "mad-tyte JDM" name brand.
Maybe you don't realize this but most normal people also make fun of idiots who pay $200 for a pair of jeans. If Hugo Boss went out of business there would be a bunch of people saying the same thing about them.

Really? Do you understand marketing? Brand power, segmentation, target markets? Do you understand perception and how that plays into value? Heuristics? If you understood those concepts you'd see that I can compare car parts to clothing because the key principals in understanding both remain the same.

Exactly what I was thinking after I read that. It's a lot easier to compare when it's actually thought out. Sure it's a different market but it's the same techniques in business

I've never latched on to any boutique brand ... I don't get the appeal. I'm frankly surprised that ARC lasted this long in their current guise. They will restructure and come back, just like Greddy (Trust) did a couple years ago [not equating Trust/Greddy with ARC, but they are not completely dissimilar].
ARC is (was) a boutique brand. Just like any boutique brand in any market (shoes, hair salons, computers, cars, car parts, food), the boutique builds a wealthy, loyal clientele who equate "expensive" with "better." Then, people who are overly brand conscious, that wish to appear to be from an elite social class and are mainly concerned with how other people perceive them, latch on to the brand and make it popular.
Is it really a shock? Prices on their parts were outrageous. I understand they went after the high end retailer, but even if I could afford it, I would never swing the money to buy accessories for something that depreciates so much.
To each their own, though. Hopefully they come back because I hate to see anyone lose jobs.

Lol this is true, I hope they don't go bankrupt.
there's a difference between paying a high price for a full race manifold and ARC intercooler pipes because they're rainbow.
people who buy arc and 200 dollar jeans do it because they have no game and need to use expensive cars and clothes to pretend like they do.

I never understood why people bought arc parts except for the fact they read on the Internet it was cool, getting caught up in the super cool jdm thing you'll end up with an overpriced part that moat likely makes less power. I do get the aesthetics of it but I would rather just have my parts painter or powdercoated.

Wow, I expected a very one sided anti JDM statement from you. Evomike has some insight!
As for power gains, unless someone is trying to make big power, the difference between say ARC and AMS is negligible. For a big power build, however, ARC is too restrictive, and I think most people know that.

I wouldn't even buy and stuff because it's overpriced, the only jdm part I had on my car was my jun cams but everything else was all mismatch American company stuff. I could never really see spending the money, the only parts I would buy from a jdm company was wheels and suspension components just because they are the proven parts and knockoffs aren't ok.

First of all, I made ONE generalizatioN (singular). I said people who buy $200 jeans are idiots. I'll stand by that statement. If that makes it sound like I'm jealous, mad, envious, or anything else, well, your assumptions have been completely off so far, so I can't say I'm surprised.
When everyone but you came in here and basically posted "serves them right for selling overpriced crap" you started attacking individual posts, then as soon as you got called out for getting butt hurt over your precious mad-tyte JDM company you play the grade school "no-I'm-not-you-are" retort. Internets is serious bizness, as they say.
To answer your question, (not that it matters, since you seem perfectly happy making up your own answers) I actually do understand (that's 0-4 with assumptions, for those of you keeping score). I'm currently an art director and studied marketing at one of the best schools in NYC. But keep right on going with the assumptions if it makes you feel better.
I also understand because when I was younger I used to think that **** mattered too.
and finally, LOL @ expecting substance in posts on tst.
