Ok, so recently I was pulled over for speeding on route 611 in doylestown township in bucks county. but i was pulled over by a plumsteadville twp officer who said he followed me 2 miles. well in that 2 miles was the twp boundaries. plumsteadville is the neighborring twp. so anyway he stops me and says license registration, ins., and then asks about why im being stopped, so i asnwer i was going about 15 over the limit and then asks when last citaition was which was back in 08. so he comes back to my car and gives me my stuff and just says slow it down and lets me go.

so, the question is, why did he let me go? is there such a thing where if you followed for more than a mile you cant be ticketed, or since he followed me outa his township and follow for 2 miles he couldnt? it was just kinda wierd as i expected a ticket. not that im complaining, just wandering. maybe he was just in a good mood and decided to let me go since its been a few years since ive had a ticket.
thanks for the time to answer this, i know you guys are busy.

Just decided to cut you a break

I can and have followed people clear out of my area and stopped them, if the violation happens in my area I can follow you wherever need be. One of my spots I run traffic will 100% of the time take me into the next township when I stop the driver. What time was it when you were stopped? If im running speed late at night im always looking for DUIs so I might follow you to monitor your driving should I need the extra info in a DUI report.

Oh ok thats what I thinking. Ive known about if the offense happends that can follow you, but wasnt clear about other thing I mentioned. It was like 1:00pm during the day. Thanks for clearing this up for me Bane.

Which one? The following for 1 mile? No we can follow you indefinitely. He could have used following you to clock you too, we can pace you and use that speed. We have to follow you for 3/10s of a mile, so between getting ready to clock you then the required distance then initiating the stop it can cover a mile plus with no problem.
