What I hate the most...

when my car is 100% pop locked and ready to rock...vette's and any other expensive sports car dont want to run me. Not because they are scared. But it just so happens that my luck the driver is a vagina.

when my car is completely reset tune and has the exhaust leak the size of justin beibers crack...then a vette wants to do a ricer fly-by on me and I cant do **** because if I go WOT, i go BOOM. It was a new vette, but it was a regular one to boot.

I wish I had a beater so I wouldnt have to endure this pain.

couple reasons come to mind...
1. neons are still neons to most people, so seems pointless
2. knowledgeable people afraid to get butthurt
3. they are responsible drivers and dont want the police getting on them.

Most people who own very expensive fast cars do not know how to "run" on the streets, so it's not really worth it. They always just gun it when they feel threatened, or they're smart and don't play with ricers.

I'd race him- PM me when Atco opens back up. I haven't done any baseline runs yet so I'll be there quite a bit next season.

Regarding street-racing, well it's not something I condone however it's hard to beat a light aerodynamic car with large displacement at highway speeds. My modified STi felt like it could keep up to 60-80 but after that the Vette just keeps on pulling like a freight train. Stock they do something like 193- with mods, and tune it's probably closer to 198-200.

Really? You are complaining about not having illegal street races with cars that even with your "pop locked and ready to rock" Neon, you would still lose, and then complaining even more when a Corvette does a "ricer flyby"? Did you even read what you wrote? First of all, Vettes don't do ricer flybys, it's called V8 power, there is a monstrous difference. Neon's, Slobalts, Civics, Sentras, pretty much anything with a 4 banger can do a ricer flyby, not a V8. And just because they drive past you, doesn't make it a "ricer Flyby" either.

Oh and a regular brand new Vette that is only pushing 430HP out of a LS3 stock, yea such an easy kill for a Neon.

I really wish you would grow up so we wouldn't haven't to endure your whiny pointless thread about something you aren't even suppose to be talking about in these forums

I don't know why Vettes are often the targets for modified imports. You see the, "I wanna go out and smoke some Vettes now" mentality quite often. It's somewhat flattering that they are using the Vette as a performance benchmark.

Additionally I don't know why people underestimate the "standard" vette. It's got the same LS3 the Grand-Sport has and is only about 75hp shy of the Z06. Showroom stock they are capable of low 12's.

For the price many of the forum members buy STi's and Evos at then try and turn it into a drag car, they could have easily bought a lightly used 2008-2009 LS3 Vette and paid for mods to put it easily in the mid-low 11's- all engine. That's not even talking about f.i.- w/ meth and tire, you are looking at low 10's high 9's!

ironically it was the same year and color vette as yours. Very true on the highway pulls. But youd have to give me a little more credit. Id last at least until 140-150 and then get pulled on horribly. Turbonetics 60-1 .63 a/r. When i was tuned at 22...i held it all the way through the end of 5th with no drop off. you are missing the point of this thread. I grew up vettes. I love chevy. My mom currently owns a 67 vette 427. The reason why it is a hard-on for me is because I know what my car can do and I respect vettes. Its not a stock 260HP neon. And regardless of the 5-7 grand that was put in to it...that still only makes it a 16k car. And actually its only worth 9k these days. So for it to beat a vette, makes me happy. I have lost to vettes and have beaten them. All depends on the normal circumstances. This is not a thread to bash vettes. So get that out of your head.

If you could stay with me until 150 I'd be blown away. Though I think there would be quite a gap out of the hole as 0-60 on the LS3 Vette is around 4-seconds flat (stock). I know the SRT4's are pretty fast when moving- thus the whole "roll racing" obsession from a lot of owner. I don't speak out of ignorance as I actually traded my modified 19psi tuned CSRT-4 in for this Vette. On the highway it moved....but absolutely nothing like this Vette.

Good luck with getting your car patched up and please, please try to refrain from street racing. Especially the kinds you purposely look for.

PS If you are serious let me know and we'll meet up and line up against one another at Atco in the spring.

I ran a 11.90@118.95 with slicks of course. They can be fast if you build em right. But of course it is still nothing compared to your car. We could both run 5 times at the track in a row and something would break on mine and you wouldnt even be warmed up yet lol. Nice looking vette though...i like them in white for some reason.

I dont go out of my way looking for street racing. Honestly even when my car is 100%...i barely even touch boost. Being big turbo is easy to stay in vaccum :). I have 90k on my car and the 60-1 has been on for 30k miles...id be a lot more broken if i constantly kept beating it. But if the road is completely open and a car that is worth 5 times more then mine pulls next to me...of course id give it a shot. And even then its only for a short distance. What I had is when people race and keep going and going and going at high rates of speed. and weaving in and out of traffic.

Id love to run ya in the spring but im really just trying to get the car in normal working order and get rid of it. Sick of the stupid little problems. id rather drive a hyundai

thanks....but thats only once. I couldnt get that consistently even if i went to church that day. I must of just caught a nice wind tunnel from behind luckily that gave me the extra push haha. Atco can get windy :cool:. One day i'll own a vette. hopefully sooner then later :cry:

Ricer flyby is where your whopping someones ass so bad in a race that it's pointless to continue so you slow down and the steriotypical Honda in the next lane keeps the hammer down till he hauls by you and then acts like he won.
