I need to know if this HKS bov is real or fake.

I searched and didnt find a thread

says "sequential blow off valve" on the black rubber stopper.
"HKS" on the top and back.
The "T" shape has like fake chrome peeling off of it. THe inside shaft is purple.
It has a number on it that says G176
I posted alot of pictures so hopefully it will help
I can post more pictures but i need to know if this is real or fake asap

it looks real right down to the signature HKS purple, but yeah the chrome peeling seems sketch but it could be a fluke.

Is there any issues with it performing? Or are you just making sure it's real?

I havent run it on my car because when i went to hook it up i found that the line on the back was smaller then mine. I need to find an adapter from 3mm to 1mm. any idea of where i can get this ?

Most of the fake ones i've seen looked a lot worse then that. I'd most likely say its real.

I took mine off my car and have it in my garage, i looked at it and it's identical to yours. Mine didn't peel tho, but then again, I didn't have it on long enough for it to start.

Looks legit.

I've had both a true HKS SSQV and a eBay knockoff. IIRC my actual HKS one started to peel as well. I guess thats just part of living in the NE.

i dont think knockoffs have hks stamped on them.

This. The copy product is in no way able to display the name of HKS under copyright infringement.

On the other hand, the rear plate that is stamped with HKS is removable/replaceable. So, the valve could theoretically be a knockoff with a genuine HKS rear plate. But I hope someone wouldn't go to such lengths just to swindle someone out of a few bucks.

HKS logo on the back should be a hologram. I can say this having an old silver hks ssqv bov,
a newer hks ssqv bov black edition,
as well as an old plastic hks ssqv bov all in my possession. sucks cause the old ass plastic ones had the issue w the plastic for the vacuum breaking off.
