I want to get a roof rack for my 2008 VW Rabbit soon. I go snowboarding 2-3 times a week and i hate putting it inside the car. I am not sure what the best one to get is, what do you guys use? I think the best 3 are Votex (vw oem rack), Thule, & Yakima.

Thule makes an excellent product and alot of the Yakima stuff can be adapted to it, but I find factory racks to just have the best looks in most cases.

I have a Thule Rack on my Mazda6s and I love it. I have the snowboard and ski attachment as well as the mountain bike attachment. It works great and keeps all the dirt and snow out of the car for the most part.

I have an INNO rack on my scion, with a THULE fairing, INNO mountain bike carrier, and a THULE front wheel holder.
Inno and Thule are both square/rectangle bars if i remember correctly. yakima uses round bars.

Yakima does use the round bars. I did notice that alot of the new thule accessories are compatible with the round yakima bars. I'm not sure if they are compatible the other way though.

All I know is that I spent about 250 bucks on attachments before I could even use the roofrack
