06 wrx- info on maf placement

I am getting a fmic for my 06 wrx. I want to use a bov that I don't got to recirculate. What other maf can I use or any ideas to have the maf between the throttle body and the bov????

Recirculate your BOV as it should be, and enjoy your car.

Ooo I do enjoy it. Drifting in the snow is the shyt. Its a great car. Drift the wrx in the winter and drift the 240sx in the summer.

Truthfully, recirculation isn't going to change any HP numbers...however drivability is a different story.

My BOV is vented. Ill admit it, but thats because there's no aluminum welder around here to weld a bung onto my IC piping. Car would have more 'pop' for SURE when shifting if I didnt vent (maybe not HP, but driveability as you said, absolutely).

That being said: Recirc your ish, especially on a suby.

I was going to do a blow by system with a fmic. But from other subie owners. Its better to recirc. And just get a bigger tmic.

ughh... let me set a few things straight a VTA bov is NOT going to cause an HP drop. The afr's run rich for a millisecond between shifts.. Remember power= work/time. when you shift, the car isn't doing any work. ok? ok.

A VTA bov on a MAF based car usually makes for poor daily driving. Stalling is one of the main complaints.

A blow through MAF is generally reserved when IAT's are EXTREMELY important. On a street car a blow through is a BITCH to tune properly.

Beat me too it. This is another one of those common forum misconceptions that somehow 'continues' on. Dunno why....

It's a shame the newer 'factory turbo cars' have such an overwhelming following, yet only about 1% of you guys actually know what's going on....yet the other 99% keep spreading nonsense. Stock BOV whenever possible has always been my thought!

Well I'm new to the subaru wrx. Seeing what u can and can't do. Since its different with every make. i was into modifying honda's and chevy's. Sold my 97 honda civic turbocharged and traded my s10 for my 06 wrx. Since parts are more expensive then honda parts. Its easier to ask u guys what works better on the wrx.

Probable in a few weeks I will start another thread on what brand tmic and bov works best and best place to get it from.

It has a boria exhaust and k&n filter for the engine. Also has hid headlights, trans totally rebuilt. Thanks to subaru warrenty(7 months ago).lol. subaru dealer repainted the whole car ( 5 months ago). Have sti wing and sti emblems for grill and trunks. Need the sti vane roof spoiler, sti hood scoop, fog light kit and covers. Then getting it all painted and installed.

Since I got the k&n filter to get better flow of air going in. I am getting a bigger tmic and 3" exhaust and something to tune her. Might get the utec.2 . I think that's what its called. Seen it on scoobytuning.

Then alumi. Rad, bigger injectors, better turbo
Its my dd for now. So I don't want to do to much to it.

Most of my money that I use on my cars. Goes into my 240sx right now.
