Owning a Lexus IS300, I've become very fond of the Lexus brand...but the release of the new IS has unfortunately disappointed me. It seems as though they've strayed away from the fun and sporty look of the original IS and entered the realm of a boring psuedo-sporty luxery car. Not only this...but they've lessened the performance in the new IS at the same price as the current IS, and the model that actually performs, the IS350, will be close to or over $40000. Any thoughts?

300horse V6:
40K+ for it: :thumbdow:
I like the one that (that guy who's name eludes me) built, the orange and black V8 one. That was a hot car.
Big name too, I just can't seem to think of it. I think he was affiliated with Toyota or TRD.

There is a short article in this month's Motor Trend mag on page 32. Looks like Toyota is aiming at the BMW 3 series with the new IS.
EVO IX is on page 104. ;)

The evo IX and X look hot. I've read the article like 10X now. The new IS looks pretty good in my opinion but the price is out of control. BMW owns the Lexus

I kinda like the new IS, however, the price is a bit much. And yes, I can see how some of the sporty "fun-nes" could be lost on the new IS. There will be a different buyer with the next model. I think the current model will remain a favorite among enthusiasts.

The EVO X is something to ponder. :D I though for sometime my next purchase would be a Skyline or M3, however, the X offers a very attractive performance package. Will we get paddle shifters? That would be nice. Wider wheels (2.5inches?) That would be cool. Wheels pushe further out? Even better handling. The price should be good, better then the M3 and Skyline.
Wow, I'm not sure what my next car will be. ;)
