View Full Version : rear wing and diffusor on Porsche 968

I made a splitter on this car back in the summer and the customer said it made the front stick too good so he wanted downforce in the rear. Heres some pictures of me building a diffusor and mounting a wing.

Building the diffusor

Mocking up the wing to measure for the uprights. The green things hanging off the trailing edge of the wing are my makeshift plumb bobs to know where I was in relation to the bumper and the wood represents just shy of level.

All I did on the splitter was make the dive planes larger.

Had to make the uprights since the wing didn't come with them

Look at this guy gettin all fancy with aero :) Lookin good brother, what angle did you end up setting the rear diffuser at?

Since it is not a flat bottom yet I kept it shallow at only a tad over 7 degrees on my angle finder. The iPhone confirmed it at 7.3 with the app haha.

Looks good, but is it supposed to sit out that far in the back?

The diffusor is only one inch beyond the outline of the bumper. Since the bumper curves inward it looks like alot more.
