My girlfriend got me a Fuji Film Fine pix S1800 camera for Xmas, so I decided to test her out. I need to get a tripod of my own, I kept using JDMTylers.

Any and all criticism, hints, and tips welcome.

Not a bad start. Finding what works best is all about spending time out there, playing around with the settings, trial and error, and seeing what kind of results you get. Nightshots are tough, so like i said, not a bad start at all.

It was a joke, he just got a chipped and tuned P28 ECU, and now it pops when he's off the gas like Justins SRT.

Thanks man! I'll probably play around with it more during the summer, when I can stand outside without freezing my balls off lmao.

Tyler told me to start with my shutter speed at 1000, pics came out black, so I just started going down till it got semi good, plus it was cold as **** out, so I didn't want to sit there and mess with the apature and shutter speed for too long. I don't think they came out bad for a first time shoot...

with night shots, you def. need a tripod. i wouldn't recomend using a uber high ISO to compinsate, cause pics usually end up very noisey and grainy.

if anything, check out flickr and look at what other people have done, and alot of the pics, people usually explain what they've done to get the pic to come out.

nightshots REQUIRE a tripod, or a statue like pose.

Regarding nightshots, ive found that the sharpest and clearest of my nightshots came from using a low(er) ISO setting (not as grainy), a mid-range apeture or F-stop, and a legnthy shutter speed. Dont be afriad to use the long shutter speeds. A low ISO as well as a higher (but not too high) apeture will stop allot of light (and overexposure) from getting in. Keep in mind.. The lower the ISO, the less light will get thru, meaning you need a slower speed, and the higher the apeture, the more light that is prevented from getting in as well, again requiring a slower shutter speed.

I'll probably end up messing with it when the snow clears up... IDK how to set ISO on my camera, just shutter speed and F-stop... and even then I only have 2 F stop settings, 4.0 and 8.0...

Since I got my truck washed the other day, I decided to go out and mess with my camera a little more. I need a new tri-pod cause the one I have is flimsy, but these are the only goos shots that came out, and I took upwards of 30-40 shots...

And this was about 100 feet away from me...

The first shot of my truck and the Raptor were taken at my old High School (Was waiting for my GF to get done her bowling game), and the other 2 were taken at an industrial park near my house. Getting better, but not quite there yet...

You have too much flare in your shots. Your white balance is off as well. This could of been fixed by you setting the white balance to incandescent. Find a better location to shoot at next time. The background is very plain.

It's tough to find a good place to shoot around here, and this being a new camera to me still, I haven't yet mastered all the settings, all I know how to do is shutter speed and f stop... And white balance, IDK if I can set that or not... I have to look into it more...
