View Full Version : Sale Rules Suggestion

I have two suggestions.

1) In order for people to post, not only should they have the required 25 posts, but also have been a member for 15 days as well.

2) (More of a personal situation that arose) I think if Airsoft can't be sold, than neither should paintball, both are equally legal.

Thanks for your time mods and admin.

They can't even have people post actual detailed listings and decent pictures...

I personally think it should be 30 days to sell something and atleast 25 posts, if not more. Same should work for Ask the Law and Networking... its just crap to join up just to ask for help and then never post again.

I agree, rules are not strict enough. For the most part people respect our forum, which is why we are not a clusterfux like other forums, without 10 of the same question, and idiot questions like there is this sticky fluid in my motor, what is it? Its oil...

We appreciate the imput guys. We're currently working on this topic, and trying to figure out the best ways to go about handling the classifieds. We'll keep you posted, but feel free to keep the suggestions coming.

i wanna bump this thread for a suggestion: make pictures mandatory in a Classified ads. i mean it only makes sense. as buyers we should be able see what were getting before we buy.

I thought it was already part of the rules, but it should be taken a step further to actually show good pics, not some cell phone pic from last year. It would be doing the seller a favor in the long run because if your too lazy to make a good sale thread, why should someone belive you actually took care of your car in the first place.

Other websites have it mandatory that the picture of the item must include a sign of the selling member's screen in the picture.

Obviously one must be careful when purchasing online, but our forum people aren't that shady that we need to do what they do

Thanks kinda overkill since we aren't a national forum. Many things are done locally in person.

I think there should just be an IQ test for all potential sellers.

If your IQ is below 100, you gotta stick to craigslist.

Simple. Easy. Effective.

On second thought, why not just have the IQ test done during registration?

That'd be killing two birds with one stone, no? We'd never have to worry about banning people like IRFGT, cuz he'd never make it past registration!

I third that ^. Whether it be because they want you to contact them for pics or they don't know how to or they havent taken any yet...Pics or GTFO.

HA No clue what the hell that part was suppose to mean, but I agree with pictures. They need to be mandatory as well.

?? Hmm...that was a few reasons pics aren't posted. Basically no excuses, put pictures up.

Much better, I understood that one lol. Agreed.

Off topic- we also need to stop helping people with car questions who simply sign up just to ask a question.

ON TOPIC
UPDATE FOR MODS THINGS TO BE CHANGED:

1) Up required post count to be able to post. (25?)
2) Have a requirement to be a member a minimum of 30 days before being able to post.
3) Require (good) pictures along with sales.

Off topic- Try signing up at team-integra.net sometime...it'll make your eyes go crossed and your index finger stiff lol

On topic- I agree except for the 30 days..maybe like 15 days. A month long wait will drive just about anyone away, no matter what their intentions.

Are we going to start enforcing this? I am seeing too many new comers making useless posts to get there.

On my M3 forum it's something like 30 days and 150 posts. On my Nikon forum it's 6 months and 100 posts ;-)

not a wise decision. lol. you'll make a rule where there needs to be bacon in every photo of an item.

Hmm sounds kinda odd coming from the guy that was complaining about not having 100 posts to get in the wtb or FS sections on the 'lude forum ;)

If you want to sell airsoft gear, PM me and i'll direct you where to go.

Why would you NOT want people to sign up to ask questions? This is a forum, a place to share information (and occasional bsing) If someone can't sign up to ask a question, why would they bother signing up to share their knowledge with us? 50-100 posts sounds reasonable to post in the FS section. The 15 day thing as well.

AutobahnRacer

because too many people leave after just one question and are never heard from again, often asking dumb questions which I will not even repeat
