View Full Version : mk4 GTI VR6 24V list of to-dos?

I have a 02 gti vr6 24v 6speed. I've had the car for a year now and has been saving up for a nice paintjob. I was wondering what engine mods i should start with first. I'm straying away from turboing because i do not have a daily driven and any gti is front wheel drive. Can you give me a list with prices of things i should do? THANKS!

Intake, exhaust, software, cams.. not a whole lot you can do before going super or turbo charged.

i was set on a magnaflow exhaust. I wanted the rumble. what brand of intake, chip and cams should i get

Intakes are all the same get one you like. Software I would use unitronic. Let me look up some cam info

Probably looking at schrick or techtonics tuning for cams

I was thinking of geting AEM intake and there is nothing but good new from unitronic. I'm gna definitely look into schrick or techtonics tuning. I basically want my car low, slow and loud THANKS!

You can skip the cams for that :)

Best 2 mods for any N/A vr6:
chip
exhaust

I would do either of these two first as they're the most noticeable, in my opinion. For chip either go with a C2 or Uni. I have C2 on my mk4 12v and it's awesome. A bunch of my friends do Uni on their 2.0t or 1.8ts and their stuff is awesome

Buy a skid plate (steel) if you're gonna go for the low thing.

ever since they came out i liked the mk4s. the way they sit and feel. had an
a4 2.8l but the vr6 is just too much fun. engine sounds crazy and its pretty comfy. dropped my car on coilovers with a 20th lip so it looks DUMPED!
