just wondering how many of us are on here?

also just to generally talk about the car outside of SRTforums. if anyone is looking into buying one this would also be a great place to ask questions. i love my car have had it for 3 years and cant wait for my turbo n slew of parts to be on for next summer :)

PS theres so much hate for our cars i love it too much. had some kid in an eg coupe give me thumbs down while i saw him bounce by on blown struts and 3 different colors on his car and a fart cannon. laughed for 5.18 seconds then realized that i became sad full of pitty he really thought he was cool. lol

first topic ill start i guess is my debate to go with a 2.0l NA cam for the exhaust side when i pull the turbo and replace the timing belt and associated parts. think itll be worth it or to just go with mild cams? tuning is another issue i want to use turbo 666, but am open to other options of places that can tune with the diablo predator.

you are not a real srt4 owner if you dont have a hate/love relationship with it. I hate my car some days, and some days i love it. I am sick of the little ****. Someone buy mine already.

I have an 04 Flame Red that I purchased off a member here almost a year ago...Its been nothing but good to me until recently....Random Ice spot, Summer tires, Pole. Not to mention tow truck cracked the oil pan then they decided to start it for some reason and spun a bearing :(. I'll have her back in a couple weeks hopefully :)

i am parting out my big turbo set up if anyones interested. 60-1 setup. Only prob is the turbine housing has two broken bolts in it causing me to have a gay exhaust leak. So i havent been in boost for a couple months now lol. Either you buy a new one or fix it. I will sell the whole setup for $1000 and i'll even throw in the 750cc's for free :). I need your stock stuff in return though

Mite be a guy i kno, he will be storing the car once school really gets under way but i guess he may of taken it with him for first few weeks.

Stock motor/trans with an older agp turbo setup on it. Made pretty good power at krazyhouse customs.

Big srt4 fan here, know alot of local owners some on TST and most who aren't. I def suggest KrazyHouse Customs is NJ for tuning.

I;ll add my 0.02
04 E-Blue original owner, now has almost 90,000 on her, still a blast to drive. E1 turbo, injectors fuel pump exhaust...blah blah blah, but yeah I love my car, its been my DD since I bought it, and I race it every summer:mrgreen:

I've always loved the Caliber SRT's from a look standpoint. Performance, not so much. Our Neons aren't comfortable, but they're definitely fast with the right mods.

That'll be pretty fast. A good friend of mine ran low 7's in the 1/8th mile at 100+ MPH. Those are extremely streetable, I thought about picking one up but decided I needed more than that.

I used to have a yellow srt. I agree with a previous comment, that you have to have a love/hate relationship with the car. I have sold it already but have interest in getting another one. They are very fun cars to drive.

This is my second one. Got rid of my silver one back in 09'. Missed it so much I got another. I suppose I could have bought an STI or something, but these are so easy to build and cheap as well.

ill never get a subby just because of how popular they are. the fact everyone hates on SRTs so hard is what makes me love mine.

I did mine and its not a fast process. Your Gonna get alot of hrs into it. and then u have to repolish it every few weeks. If i was gonna do mine again i would powerder coat and be done with it. Polished likes great but takes alot of upkeep..

Rado_VR6
01-22-2012, 10:08 AM
Forget the upkeep, powdercoating it is. Of course return line and bottleneck fix first, then suspensions and wheels, and then comes some the vanity items. I'm not sure who to go with for a built bottom end though. I know I'm pretty set on a DCR pro mod head because I want the fastest spool up possible on my 5857 and I'll be able to run this puppy into the ground.

For Bottom end its Hard to Beat Forward Motion Inc. Mike work's with DCR as well so he can help u install the head if needed. Shoot him and email to sales@forwardmotioninc.com .

Hope i dont sound to much like a sales guy and get yelled at, my bad if so..

Rado_VR6
01-23-2012, 01:37 PM
I'm familiar with some of his work, had an E2 on the car a couple years ago. FM might be the best best to get the bottom end and head dropped in. I'll see if he can offer a decent head setup with +1/+2 valves at the bare minimum, and some decent cams.

DaBombDiggidy
01-23-2012, 02:25 PM
ive seen some good dynos with stock size valves. people have made over 500 with his CNC head on an e3 i believe. its not always about more flow, but making everything efficient n run at the same level... if your going baller big though +1 should suffice

04BlueSRT4
01-23-2012, 04:07 PM
The guys at Forward Motion are great, Have had some of their stuff on my car for years, plus they are always there to help if you need it

Rado_VR6
01-23-2012, 09:38 PM
You have to max an E3 out to make that power. My 5857 really flows up top, and I need as efficient a flow as possible. The larger the setup the better in the case of a big turbo. You always want to go with more than what you need. The +2 exhaust valves are a good setup for increased flow. A 47lb wheel is far different than a 60+lb wheel.

Sweet i was afraid i was gonna get yelled at for mentioning a non vendor or something. Ive been doingng sales for Fm for the last yr or so now. So if you ever need prices on anything just let me know. I hope to install my FM manifold here in the next few weeks. but im still just on the lil guy E1. Its just enough power to keep me happy :)

Lol, I usually stick to the SRT vendors anyway. I have a problem with my turbos. Between the two SRT's I've owned I've had a 20g, E2, D55, and this 5857. Since I'm used to driving with the 5857, it now feels slow, balls slow. That's why I need to do head work and my bottom end to get to the upper end of what this turbo can do before I upgrade again. High 400's hopefully low 500's after all is said and done.

I drive like a grandpa as is since I always have my son with me. I could probably up the boost and adjust the tune a bit and coast out to the 460-475whp range if I went up to 27. I'd be plenty safe seeing as how I don't beat the balls off my car. I just want my return line and head work so I don't have to up the boost and I'm safer while in boost.

So discovered that my boost gauge is taking a dump. It's roughly 2-3 psi off and apparently has been that way FOREVER. So instead of being at 25psi, I've barely crept past 22.

And I definitely do need a daily. I'm thinking of picking up a beater sometime this spring.

I know im new here but ive done timing a few times now. R u thinking cam seals? do u need ur timing belt done at the same time? how about water pump?

Also r u running a new pcv vavle and/or a checkvalve. i know if boost gets over to valvecover it will push those seals out and sometime the valve cover one out too.

DaBombDiggidy
01-27-2012, 09:53 AM
^ yup. ive been running a check valve (3.8ths the correct size) for awhile and never got this problem for his reasoning. best way to find out, is to clean everything off and run the car. find the highest spot the oil is and that will help in your diagnosis.
