@21 psi spike holding 16psi to redline, with low timing i made 378wtq and 346whp
-Slipped clutch bad in the fourth gear base run which was 24 psi and 20+ degrees of timing.
-im not too upset though because on a load type dyno the numbers arent bad for 21 psi and sub 20 degrees of timing i was running to keep my stock clutch from exploding LOL
-nigel is an awesome guy! is helping me out to get an ACT clutch and then push this turbo a bit instead of being on putt putt mode ;)

11-04-2010, 01:04 PM
but but butttt i wanaaa hahaha!!! jk i love the look tho. im just trying 2 find a place 2 do it that has flat black vinyl or a very low gloss i dont like when people do it and it shines like crazy. Lastly, removing the crosshairs just looks getto on our cars IMO

and the side exit looks good i love it personally i have, since pic, put a tip on it now too which makes it a bit more noticeable even though its not too loud at all.

ive been driving the car for years... i know the limits of FWD and that ill be generally pushing them, but thats why im not doing a 50 trim. Most srts arent considered streetable or are said to be useless because of all the lag and the 50 trim hitting all at once. Good enough tires i will/should hold fine. (forgetting 1st and second gear) haha

but a friend of mine was manageable would usually race 30-40 rolls with an e1 and would generally win most races; unless completly overpowered. awd always looses power in the transfer. ill be running less boost then he was too so itll be more manageable.

i beg to differ, my buddy has a oragne SRT4 with a upgraded FMIC, & with the corss hairs removed the IC fills the hole nicley & looks super clean (even looked that way with the stock IC)

DaBombDiggidy
11-04-2010, 02:20 PM
yeah i know what you mean. i love my srt honestly and many owners after they sell their car are always posting on for sales saying they miss theirs. and STI BOOOO!!!! lol i mean what!?!?! this is tst, i love subaru  . and nice i just think everyones got their style where alota people like the exposed intercooler look i tend to like it better with the stock mesh on, another thing is it depends on how its done ive seen some people rig it and it looked terrible where some was do-able again just personal preference i dont like a huge gapeing hole in the front of my car.

boostedfury
11-04-2010, 04:36 PM
hey dude go on the forums and do the crosshairs yourself...a guy used plastidip and it came out phenomenal (if you want a low luster black/flat black look). I def recommend that over paying a shop a couple hundred bucks. Plus the plastidip peels off if you hate it, get tired of it or just want to change it up once a year!

yeah man i was really upset about it coming out of work that day. problem was there were many srt's near where i was and Newark is not far from my school so it probably got boosted by people from around there i guess its my fault for not getting it molded, but its still ****ed up.

I haven't had any problems with my 50T.... And it's been my DD for years. Lag isn't horrible either but that's the trade off. Either u stay small with instant spool or go big with SOME lag and a punch in the face when it rips! Full spool around 3500 but I've never had mine running 100% (thanks alaska) me having DBB also helps. I beat my friends GT3076r from a roll and dig thanks to the quicker spool :)

Go big or go home!

whoever thought to put the intercooler piping through the bumper the way they did was an idiot. hot side pipe kept blowing off so I needed to order a god damn foot long of coupler and cut it so i had enough slack to reach the hard piping and get a good seal on the clamps.

turbo cars and boost leaks are a never ending fight!

so now im off pcm boost and have a 19 psi spring wastegate from AGP.

spiked 25 pounds yesterday and fell to 21 was the lowest i saw. AFRs seemed to hold 11.7 or lower pretty steadily! lets just say... that was pretty fun

went this route because my tuner had given me a tune for an independent gate with heavy spring because he had only tuned units with this set up. I thought id be okay modding the stock tune but the computer always brought me down to 15 psi as fast as it could (felt like a turd past 3k in 3rd gear) after boost testing, leak down testing, compression testing it ended up just being the wastegate. FML for all the work and FTW my motor is good and it only was an 80 dollar problem.

DaBombDiggidy
10-03-2011, 11:26 AM
honestly itd be so hard to custom make one the quality of the mpx one. with 30+ screws/washer/locking nuts alone picking them up to all the correct sizes along with the tapping screws itd be expensive. also the aluminum is really thick on this piece it would take a beating if given it. I made it black to survive flying rocks better, also havent had any problems with scraping it yet either.

honestly, ive driven plenty and like rwd a ton more. in the price range when i was buying my car it was either this, a bug eye, or 04 gto for a few k more and im very happy with my next choice. my next car will be v8 rwd and money gods willing boosted later.

10-03-2011, 06:37 PM
Are you going to flatten out the rest of the undercarriage? If you lower your car enough to get those RLCAs up out of the windstream, you can see a pretty drastic bump in MPG if the fins are at the correct angle.

DaBombDiggidy
10-03-2011, 09:36 PM
Actually the front is really flat not much you could cover without making it terrible to do maintenance. And I would go lower but with speed bumps it would rip out the shiney new Goodie lol. Mpgs went up 2 and change on the highway the other night. I want to see how it is with good cruising speed though. As you can see the way the stock bumper is shaped it trapped a lot back there.

well im glad to hear that, it was between meth/E85 and nitrous for me

you still got that side exit for sale also? im considering buying it, just gotta convince the misses to let me. i park in the garage and i leave for work at 7am. my daughters room is right above my garage and when i start the car damn near everyone within a few houses (my houses are connected to 3 others) and across the street can hear it

basically im trying to get my set up running as effeciently as possible.

poly bushings
grabbing an extra set of axles

... that just happened

yeah i got the door jams left and some spots ive been finding in the light but its solid for 8 cans and 54 dollars + tax spent.

now im looking for an explorer 5.0l with cobra heads. i already have a T5 manual trans in this ranger so the swap would be gravy and basically needs to happen.

driver is kyle van natten... hes a really cool guy n it was the first time out testing his new motor/turbo build so he obviously didnt get a full pass per our conversations over the weekend, but hes trying to be one of the few cars on 24"wides in the 7s. His new build made 1030whp @30 psi with no nitrous and @ the track hes now spiking ~40 from his first few runs. @ first he was having trouble keeping the alternator belt on and with some aem v3 tuning issues. its just amazing how easy this thing is to work on, he spares no expense on this car, but will not add anything that will take away from the ease of part replacement

-for the sake of comfort im getting it rebuilt and balanced with a new wheel and seals
-manifold will be ported and ceramic coated (luckily i came across one with 0 cracks which is pretty amazing in the srt game on a stage 3)
-with all of my mods on my E1 its gona basically be plug and play, with the inclusion of a return line mod so i can change the fuel pressure.

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/product/wheels/t_20111101.velfli.bcm.ang.jpg

TBH it wasnt all that terrible. besides not having the correct length insert rod for the crank pulley it only took about 3 hours.

Yeah I tried to do it without a cam sprocket wrench or a very good puller, and it took about 8 hrs:bigeek:

really? best way IMO is to line up the 3 marks (sprockets and the one near the bottom) then turn it over by hand for 2 full rotations, if its still lined up after the 2nd you should be good.

got it on my second try.

04BlueSRT4
