The problem is that with car meets, usually come douche bags. I dont know why...but thats how it is. This meet is cool because its huge, but it also sucks because its huge. Its not a close knit group of people with the same intentions, its a bunch of different people...some cool...some alright...and some that should pile their cars up at the junk yard and get out of the hobby all together. I mean dont get me wrong, i like having fun in my car, but an organized meet in a parking garage in a small town like woodbury is not the place. If you like to be an ass hole and **** around, come to the "races" or whatever you want to call them these days on saturday night and you can do whatever the hell you want and no one will care, cops, or other people there. Keep Woodbury for the people who just want to hang out and bull **** about cars because thats what a spot like Woodbury is good for.

I dont think thats necessarily the solution though. I feel like everyone naturally wants to show off, and unless theyve been told otherwise- they will. We've all been a ricer at least once or twice in our lives. If you can reach the MAJORITY of the people coming out and sternly express that "if this behavior doesnt stop, this meet will," I think youll have (at the very least) less douchebaggery.

Either that, or make the entrance a single file entrance, and take down lisence plate numbers at the gate. If someone does do something, the lisence plate numbers wont do anything for you in terms of catching them- but hopefully knowing that their plate has been written down will prevent people from trying anything stupid.

Most people who come regularly know who I am,so I've never really had a problem with anyone being a D-bag and try to start something. One time it did almost escalate until I noticed the mob of 15 people standing behind me,which squashed it real quick.

I think the only way you'll possibly prevail over the douchebagness is to desigibate a small handful of people (2-4) to sit at the enternce of the garage and stop every single car as it comes in and explain the rules to them. It's easy to ignore "suggested" rules but harder to blatenly disreguard and disrespect someone who's spoken to you personally about what is and what's no accepted. In my own honest opinion, i started going to the bensalem sonic meets again because TST is no longer invloved. Some people act like idiots, some people rev up, blaire music, make noise, look like tools, then the local PD rolls through, bust some heads, and life goes on. Car meets are going to have problems, that part of the game. Just learn to deal with it, or start a fight with someone, they are the only options. I choose to just sit back and let people do as they please as long as they are not doing anything to me or my car, and if everyone did the same, no one would get hurt. Car meets would be boring if people just came and acted like old men, there is nothing wrong with a little rev and a little douchebaggery sometimes, but there is a time and a place for it, but that is out of the control of senseable people. Police exsist because people cannot behave in society, why would car meets be any different?

Side Note: Went to this meet a handful of times last season, i really liked the spot, some nice people, i give who ever is putting their name on the line for this meet alotta credit.

this might be a shot in the dark, but what about having one or two people stand at the opening of the parking garage and filter the people coming into the parking garage, maybe set a fee to enter the garage if you are going to the car meet, and all the money collected will be donated to a good cause?

And the people that are not there for the car meet can still enter the garage for free since it is a parking garage...charging to go to the car meet may filter out the douchebags?

Once you let go of the meet you'll stop caring. Really, what is the novelty of meets? If you want to show your car off there are car shows for that. If you want to hang out with friends you can do that any time in any parking lot. If you want to street race you can befriend Philly Car Meets on Facebook and talk some **** :lol:. Half of the cars at meets are nearly 100% stock, and there's nothing wrong with that since it's not a car show.

Mostly go to meets because I have a couple differnt circles of friends and meets bring them all together, but I would love if all the tough guys would chill the **** out and actually talk to people out side of their small weinered group of friends.

Taken down plates helped ALOT at our Monday night meets last season. We stopped each car, even local people we knew and wrote down their plate and explained why. I say it cut down about at least 80% of the ass hattery. Worth a shot I think!

^that would be a good idea. Make sure everyone can get the clear message that plate numbers will be taken so if they decide to do dumb ****, they can be reported in minutes.

I actually met about 25 people since Ive started to come. Plates do sound like a pretty good idea.

We weren't kicked it,just so many people started leaving that they wanted to help prevent traffic buildup inside the garage. There was about 20 of us still left after everyone cleared out,just hanging out.

Edit: we had around 100-150 cars per night, I'd guess you guys are bringing 200-250? It's still do-able. 1 person stops the car & explains whats up while another person writes a tag# & description of the car.

it always comes down to that though. dante and tom did a great job at the monday night meets doing the plate thing, and it did help a lot. there will always be a few assclowns that will rev/burnout/other various **** no matter what. it's just a phenomenon that naturally occurs a good meet.

it's not hard to talk to everyone at a big meet. i go around and talk to every single person at the monday night meets no matter how big or small. every group has a "leader" that the rest look up to. if you talk to that one person, and have him keep his group in check, it should keep the retardation down by a lot. just let them know what's up, what the deal is, tell them in a nice way "were trying to keep the bull**** down and it would be a huge help if you could just let your people know." something along the lines usually helps. plus it indirectly makes them feel like they are apart of the meet, which helps out in the long run.

if i come to another meet ill try to help keep the nonsense down, and i have absolutely no problem kicking any clown out of the meet, i do it all the time at the monday night meets haha. best of luck to you guys though

Some people were reving, which caused other to go and start their cars, hit the two step and then turn them off(I was near one of the grand nationals when they did this), loud music by a bunch of people and the usual burnout as you leave. I think one person did get pulled over for leaving like a moron.

Woodbury or any city would never have a cop sit with us. They would consider it a waste of money to pay a cop to sit there.

is said grand national driver a tall skinny white kid who might have possibly been wearing a cowboy-ish hat? if so i know him and allll the people he comes with very well, if its him i'll make sure something is said at work tomorrow to spread the message.

The cops in our area used to park their cars on duty and walk our meet. They also used to sit in the lot and or in the immediate vicinity (the meet was right where 4 small expressways intersected). It doesn't hurt to talk to them

Unfortunately just catching people on film isnt gonna stop the behavior. You gotta make it known to everyone that the douchebaggery is not appreciated, and the only way to do that is to talk to each car. Maybe set something up so that the regulars can take turns taking plates down each week? Unfortunately, since there has already been a police presence at the meet, that means you guys are basically on your "last chance," meaning you need a change in behavior NOW, and simply videotaping the dbags isnt going to save the meet. You need results.

Heck, even 2 or 3 weeks of taking plates down may be enough to send the message that youre serious. After that, it may not be necessary. Yeah its a hassle, but so is finding somewhere else to hold a meet.

this meet is OVER. done. DO NOT come back to the garage. the PD was there, had everyone stand by their car and pull out liscence insurance registration. the entire garage, level by level.

they blocked the exit with 3 cruisers and had 2 more at the top. complaints went it and the county court was getting involved to make sure the meets are THROUGH.

they said in the last year things were ok, but now that the complaints are there is finished.

SONIC in bensalem is also getting hit weekly by the cops. as well as famous daves spot.

BB/SA meet for Jersey seems to be good.

the garage meet was the best one i have been to, sad to see it go.
