My Stanced Dc5....gone

Well the 6 is gone...But my friend just gave me a really good deal on her base auto rsx with 57k on it so i bought it. I'm new to the Honda Scene, but my friends are all die hard honda guys, I was actually a Honda hater but coming from my Mazda 6 that was plagued with problems. I had to make the decesion to get the car really quick cuz of a bunch of reasons from the 6 dying to the insurance company, and I feel like I made a good choice. My friends are all thrilled I got a Honda, and now I can have them help me out with stuff and get me deals on their stuff instead of being the only guy with the mazda.

Ive got big plans for this car. But first things first, im prob gonna swap to the K20 in the type R and do a 6speed conversion at the same time, because my first impression of this car is it was SLOW. as you can see by my username.

The amount of work and money to swap it and do a manual conversion would make it it really just a money pit. You should recognize the excellent deal you got and capitalize on it. You got a good deal because your friend needed to unload it quick. Well you DONT need to unload it quick, so if you sold it, you could sit on it until you got fair market value for it. If you could make a couple grand off it and turn around an just buy a type-s... why not do that? Thats the way I'd go.

I had plans for alot more CF but then the car started giving me more issues. It woulda been sick, but I honestly didnt like it either when it came down to it just being the hood in CF

Very true, I think that I could prob get what I paid for it again right now. The only thing stopping me from doing exactly that is the insurance prices. :(

I'm glad you came to your sences ad decided to get a fun new and yet daily driveable car. the 240SX i think was going to be a bad move for you. it looks clean. i'v always liked the RSX i hate honda's but the RSX is awsome. I was looking at a type S before i bought my eclipse.

Dont bother with the type S swap... its to time consuming and its not as easy to do as it is on older cars. if you really want one sell this thing and get the real deal. i'm assuming this ones an 06 or so they pull a nice amount, sell it and get an older type S. I would keep it though. they can be made to be fast.. I dunno if it has toptrinic but if it does thoes things are gangster. i got it in my eclipse and you can ask steve what he tough of it at the track:mrgreen:

Is it in your name or your parents name?

Did you look into insurance quots? Your price for an 06 base model could be the same as a low miles 03 type S. it all goes by the year of the car.

For instance my eclipse being an 06 is about $200 a month. if i would have gotten an 07 or 08 it would be about $300-$350 a month.

keep it auto and slow. it's a Great comfortable dd that can turn reasonably well. Not sure if you know this but its on 02/04 type-s wheels. They didn't come factory with them wheels.

In my opinion, drop it, maybe a lip kit and rims, and cruise. I miss my Type-s

Well actually thats not true either. The RSX's all used K-series motors, the base model just used a poopy one. Older hondas (B-series, D-series, and H-series motors) all turn the opposite direction as a k-series. Meaning, for all the older hondas, the intake manifold is by the firewall, the header is by the rad support, and the transmission is on the passenger side. All of this is opposite with a K-series. So putting a k-series in an older honda would be much more difficult than swapping it into a base series RSX.

Plus i wasent going to turn down an 06 eclipse fully loaded with low miles for $10000 just because it was an automatic. +plus its my daily driver and i do A LOT of driving during the day and a lot of it in traffic..

About 48 hours after I got the car I got a cheap CF hood just so I could mod something, couldnt help myself lol, Can't find a pic of it because I couldnt stand looking at the ****ty hood when I had a brand new Mazda Sebion hood on my wall..:(

Got real tired of the stock wheels real fast, so I began to search for exactly what I wanted...Found the xxr 521s and loved them, only 17" size they had was a 17x7, I was afraid that was gonna be too weak and I would be disappointed and luckily for me I get a call the next day that the wheels are on national backorder and XXR has no plans of making the wheel anymore..oops.

Well to craigslist we go :) Found a set of 18x8.5 +40, so I went from weak as hell to holy **** lol.

Trust me, swapping will be more of a headache than you can imagine vs selling it and getting a type s or Si since it has LSD. If you really wanna swap why get the same motor? Do it different for all that trouble.

Get a Gopower k24 and a 5 speed with lsd or get a stock k24 and s/c it maybe

I say if you are gonna swap it just do it, and then do all the showy stuff later.

If you add up the money you spend on fixing things that weren't broken, you would have a K20 in there already.

Oh, and don't you dare sell that DC5 for a 8th Gen Si...they can keep their LSD, the DC5 is 100x better looking way less common. I trip over 3 or 4 8th Gens on my way to work every day.

Eh stance is blah and hellasunk until I throw on my spacers but thanks man.

Its just on cheapo raceland coilovers. I needed low and I needed it fast but springs werent an option, I'm gonna get some real nice onces in the future but these ride pretty well and get you slammed.

Everyone has teal wheels, I was like **** it lets do what not many other people are doing. Red, blue, teal, purple all of that has been done, this is different.

I hated the flat black, so ugly, wheels didnt stand out at all, SOOOOOOOOOO hard to keep clean.

wheels are 8.5" wide and the tires are 205s

Got bored and decided to clean up the car and hit up a few spots that I had in mind for a shoot and I dont think they came out too bad, I'm lucky to have a parking garage around me with LED lighting instead of that nasty yellow lighting in most of them

I have State Farm, and have had my own policy with every discount possible since 16 (Good grades, clean record, etc). I've had at least two cars on the policy at all times. I think it's because I've had so many damn cars and no accidents. 99' Civic Si, Chevy Metro, 03' Ford Ranger, 03' Cobra, 88' Mustang Lx, 89' Mustang Lx, and the 03' Evo. The Evo qualified for tons of safety discounts, an alarm, and a few other random ones. :thumbup:
