Hey Guys,

Just picked up an 05 GTI and failed emissions due to readiness status. Want to see if I can troubleshoot it. Hopefully its as easy as an ecu reset and I don't need to fix some equipment.

If you'd be able to help out, shoot me a call at 215-896-1817. I'm right near UDel.

Thanks,

Adam

why dont you go to autozone and get it scanned for free then report back with your code #'s. if you need to reset the ecu, just unplug the battery for 10-15min

Because if i do all that (and was planning to), I want to be sure that the car will only have a maximum of 1 not ready so i dont have to wait at the dmv for 2 hours for nothing. VAG-COM will be able to confirm this.

Thanks for the input tho.

Driving is fun (compared to waiting in lines). If i can't find anything more local, i'll take you up on that.

Thanks for the offer!

That would be perfect. I am right off south college ave. You free any days this week? Trying to get this all squared away so i can get the car titled and registered.

I heard about a vw meet that happens on mondays....you ever go to that?

Depending on where you are taking it for inspection. If you just clear the code you will need to drive the car for a 50 + miles. they check that you didn't just clear the code. Just food for thought. I have a Vag com but I am outside philly. Good luck.

Hi Newbie here. Im hoping sum1 can assist me with use of a vag-com or point me in the righ directiom. Also any suggestions on how to go about or who to send it to on possibly flashing my ECU to bypass the immobiizor. I have a crank 1 second start & cutsoff on my 2003 Audi a4 quattro 1.8T. Would sure appreciate sum1 assistance on either or both items. Thanks much !!
