I'm pretty sure you could do 11.6's in an STi for less than 60k.

Kingpin GT35 Kit - 3800
Kingpin IC kit - 1250
Intake/fuel system - 1000
Hydra + WBO2 - 1900
Boost Controler - 500
Crawford 2.5l block- 4000
Exhaust - 1200
Clutch - 1000
Gauges - 900
Tuning - 1000
Axis headwork - 2600

Coilovers - 1800
Pads/lines/rotors - 1200
wheels/tires - 2500
--------------------------------
23,000 +/-

Now put that in the subaru of your choice, and you should be around 450 hp on pump gas, if not more with all the engine/ head work. Stock STi blocks have done 400+ hp with that setup. You can add a brand new STi for 30k, or pick up an old 2.5rs for like 12k, and just need to buy an AVCS head for about 5k. On race fuel, you are easily over 500 hp, and almost definatly in the low 11's, if not tens. And, if you need a new window switch, you have an extensive dealer network to stop by to pick it up.

As far is the 'but its a Skyline d00d!!!111' part of it...its a rear drive R32, pretty meh by my standards. At least an R33 GTR would be a pimp ride that noone else would have. You can legally import an R32 in Canukistan now, being that they are over the 10 year age restriction.

its cool, but just not 60K cool.

the 11.6 was run at 13 pounds of boost... there's a lot more in there, as indicated by the 900 whp. :prayer:

Awwww, thanks.

And while I could be running better than 11.6 in a 60K STi, there is something to be said for having a Skyline.
I could dump 60K into a Ford Topaz and run 10's, but it's still a Ford Topaz. ;)

But you don't see a skyline everyday. Just look in the spotted threads.

Hmm for 60K I don't think so. I'd have to go and buy an 03' Cobra. Spend about 10K and runs 10s all day long. I do however wonder how fast that thing must be with 900hp. I would think 9's if traction wasn't a problem. My dad ran 9.40s with 700hp in a 3300lb car.

I'd take that over just about anything.

Think they'll take my first born as collateral?

eh, a rear drive R32 is cool, but its still a ten year old RWD car...A Merkur XR4Ti is a rare ten year old RWD car that can be built to run stupid HP, but it wasn't in Gran Turismo or FatF...

I don't see a Smart every day, doesn't mean I'm willing to pay well over what one ought to be worth to own one.

Now, make that an R33 GTR V-spec, and you got yourself a deal. Besides the aforementioned 'skyline-ness', its claim to fame is how fast it is, yet the only slip they have doesn't exactly impress me.

What are the legalities of legally importing an R32 into canada, then transporting it into the us? technically, it would then be a car titled in north america.

I don't get the whole 'safety and emissions' bs that they limit the cars you can import. I can legally own a 1962 muscle car, that burns leaded gas, has waste only seat belts (if any), and has 50 years of wear on it...but god forbid I own a car that meets the current safety criteria of another country, would be able to meet emissions standards via simple modifications, and sports all the new fangled safety devices.

As a final odd note, my friend did call me today as he was driving the shop he works at R33 around...he's a cock. (he also drives the aforementioned XR4Ti)
