It aint perfect at all, but all the essentials work great. And i like it that way because perfect car = worries and less fun.

Its been a blast so far and the modding will begin soon. Ive already picked up a Flyin Miata stage 2 suspension for the car, just havent installed it yet but it should happen sometime this fall.

Just wondering why you got this. Is this going to be a dedicated track car or is the STI going to go that route? Also what are your plans for this?

Its basically just a toy lol. Yea my goal is to track the car, and do some autocross. I also wanna do legit performance driving lessons with it. But i do plan to keep it street-able too cuz its a great roadster.

as far as power goes, im not looking to make it "fast", as in no V8 swaps and probly no turbos, At most id do a mild supercharger setup, but i wanna keep it rather slow for my own reasons i guess. I mean i do wanna do some stuff to it to make it a little quicker but not ruin it with too much power. At first i'll probly advance the timing a little (good for like 15whp on 93 oct) and do a cat back and a K&N filter, light mods, Ive been told these mods would bring it to like 120whp, not bad considering its a little less than 100whp stock, so that should be good for now. Maybe a supercharger if i want more from there, but i want to keep it under 200whp for sure, probly well under.

I been having a blast with it stock though, its very different from the STi and they compliment each other extremely well.

I've always read intake and exhaust money are better spent saved for turbo/supercharge setup.

Is the garden bed liner for your front lip or a real one. I've seen it in person and still don't know. When are you doing suspension. I'm due but I've never done that myself before.

sometime this fall me and my friend are gonna do it over a weekend. I have a feeling cuz of corrosion it may be quite a fight lol.

And my friend mike, who i bought the car from, did the home depot front lip, costed like 6 bucks and I think it looks great lol

and did u say uve seen my car in person? where u from dude?

Car is in the shop having the Flyin Miata Stage 2 suspension installed now. Im glad I didnt have to do it myself because he has had to cut many bolts off and order some stuff from mazda, alot of work i just dont have time for during school lol.

I also just bought some wheels yesterday. Motegi Traklites 15x7 black with metal lip. They have 205 Dunlops on them.

My goal is to have the car track/autoX ready by the time school is out in the spring. All I really need now is the rollbar which im probly getting for Christmas.

I also plan on advancing the timing by 4 degrees and running 93 octane, miata gurus say this is good for an extra 15whp.....FO FREE lol. not a bad gain for a 2100lb little car.

I also am toying around with getting rid of the power steering for a manual rack, the PS fluid is leaking some.

Shes runnin good, and Ive been having a blast. Great compliment for the STi. I drove the Miata at school for a week while the scoob was in for service and when I drove the STi again, it felt unbelievably fast. I just needed some kinda freshening up of my car situation, and Im glad I got the miata instead of stretching myself to throw a bigger turbo in the Sti at this point.

Nice dude. Next time you have the Miata up at school, let me know. Where you living this year?

Got Insulin?

No need to get rid of your rack, just loop the lines or de-power it completely.

15whp on 93 octane? Doubtful. I run premium since a month ago when I decided I didn't want dirt fuel anymore. Don't feel 15 extra horses...

I deleted my power steering last week. Get the miataroadster.com rack plugs and just remove the p/s pump, reservoir, hoses, lines. Good for 15-20lbs and lots more room under the bay.

Yea, idk if 15whp would be the actual gain. thats just what i was told by miata ppl lol

What would u say the best mods to do are to get a bit of a bump in power. Not looking to do F/I at this point, but exhaust, cams, etc are possibilities sometime in the next year or so. not looking to spend a ****load tho. It doesnt need to be "fast", i just want it to be a little quicker than stock

what's your budget? My car came with Racing Beat intake and exhaust. I put on a Racing Beat header and test pipe. I feel a big difference above 4,000rpm but nothing below that. I'd like to get the FFS coldside MP62 supercharger by next summer if I can stop buying frivolous crap. I'd say the i/h/e mods pushed me to about 155bhp which isn't much, but I gutted my car so it weighs about 2100lbs. I'd recommend good tires and a good alignment.

Miata.net has a wealth of information for you to research. clubroadster.net has some good deals on new and used parts sometimes. miataturbo.net has turbo information and used parts. roadsterdrift.com exists if you're interested in getting into drifting.

Instead of going manual rack, just depower your current rack. Quicker ratio than manual.

You will not get 15whp at 14 or 18 degrees of timing, 5 at the crank if you are lucky.

Cams made my car feel worse at high RPMs until I tuned it so if you aren't getting an ECU or piggy back, don't bother.

Fitftw, lower octane fuel is dirt? If you aren't pinging you are wasting your money.

fitftw

wasting money how? Premium fuel will make a car last longer than regular. Find me a test that proves otherwise.

thanks. Don't worry about how I spend my money. Do you smoke? Do you drink? I don't. I'd rather my engine drink healthier gas than lower octane bull****.

I'm not worried at all about how you spend your money, but rather think you should have a clue about what you are talking about before you go suggesting false statements to other people. You might want to do some more research on octane ratings.

Higher octane fuel is just more resistant to detonation. High hp/compression cars need higher octane so the fuel doesn't ignite early in the compression stroke due to heat and compression. I don't see how it could add horsepower at all on your little n/a engine. I almost want to say that it might be hurting your hp because its harder for the car to burn, but unlikely.

well I do have i/h/e so maybe premium is what I should be doing anyway? And I'll be s'charged by summer so I might as well be running premium through it now. I don't drive much, maybe 15 miles a day if that, so the extra $3.00 per fillup for premium really doesn't hurt me.

before i got the miata, as far as I was concerned lower than 93oct didnt exist.

Idk what to think here honestly. but for now im only concerned with getting the car ready for the track, so i can leave the motor alone till im ready to look into this more i guess

I still have a copy of your car's carfax(when I was looking at it). Do you want it? It doesn't really say anything besides where it's been and miles. Nothing bad.
