EWG diaphragm ripped???

i have the tial mv-s 38 mm EWG. i was just inspecting the diaphragm and i noticed a slight rip on the inside rubber but it does not go through. it stopped at the strong mesh. do i replace or leave it???

I would replace it. There's a lot at stake (BOOM!) if your wg doesn't open due to torn diaphragm.

Btw, how many miles you have on this so far? Is it installed in a manner that might produce more heat in the diaphragm than necessary? ...I mean like if you rotate it so the head isn't right next to the turbo exhaust housing or manifold.

I wonder if this is related to something I heard from a couple highly reliable sources, a couple serious racers around the country, who told me this was not an uncommon MV-S problem due to overheating and that's why the new MV-S has that water cooled diaphragm housing. Maybe ask TiAL if they can convert yours? Maybe they can make a good deal for you if it's under warranty.

Btw, I have two MV-S's on my setup but no problem so far.
