I won :)

This morning on the way to work I raced a black 04 vette from a light. We both were making a left in an industrial park by countlyline road and I was behind him at the light. He reved... I reved... and when the light turned green we both launched thru the left hand turn into the 2 lane road and I passed him... it happened really quick but he gave me a thumbs up...

he still wins as far as bad ass looks go :)

That's a good race man. Both should run low 13s stock. I never thought to think of how fast an STi is compared to a stock corvette. Good thing it wasn't the 05' with an LS2 and 400hp. His Sti probably cost around 32K and a Vette is about 45-50K. His may even handle better, never even looked up the specs. Good Kill man.

More details please.
Did you pass him at 50, 80, 100?
By what margin?
When did you both shut it down?
Whas the Vette auto/manual, modded?

criz
04-02-2005, 02:06 PM
well, by the time we both made the left on the road we were probably doing 25, 30... and as he chose the left lane, I picked the right and by that time we were both WOT...

as soon as we straightened out I began passing him at a good clip and as we both were accelerating the rate at which I was passing him slowed down but by the time we got to where that road ended we were doing somewhere above 80... i wasn't look at the speed but know the needle was in that area.

his car jumped like it was being shifted by a manual... but I dont know... not sure if it was modded... he made a left at the light and I made a right when it was all said and done...

Manual C5s are no slouch on a roll.
They trap nearly 110 mph.
And to pull one in such a short distance is no small feat,
especially with its inherent torque advantage.

I would guess it was an automatic.

If you kept going he would probably have passed you as you got close to 100mph and above...as your turbo would run out of breath...I see that pheonix yellow M3 in levittown all the time...

if you ever want to drive it, be my guest... but i'd also then have to drive your car too :)

That is true. But regardless, m3's are special :) Yes, even the E46 chassis :finga:

I saw a goldish/yellow M3 on the blvd last fall. I thought it was a custom paint job until I saw one online, weird color. Don't know if that's the L-town guy, but it's the only one I've seen on the road.

congrats on the win - I smoked every "muscle car" i raced in my STi, but that's because it has a p&p VF37 twin-scroll (19psi by 2650rpms) ;)

2004 - let me know if you are interested in a twin-scroll setup... I know someone who is trying to sell one. AKA insta-boost
