Well in about 2 months I'll be leaving Japan after two long years. I'm obviously going to need to buy a cell phone but at this point I don't even know who offers the best service. I'm really not trying to spend 90-100 a month on a phone. If thats the case no days, I'll just get one of those $50 a month unlimited prepaid phones from walmart.

Any recomendations? I've been hearing alot of good things about android.

On average how much do you pay (if you don't mind saying) and what does it include?

Don't get Sprint. All of my friends that have Sprint constantly lose service.

If you read the reports on T-Mobile, they are supposedly losing multiple millions of subscribers a year. And if things do not change for them they will be bought or close shop in a few years. Just what I've read-

I have an Android phone with Verizon. I haven't had any problems since I got rid of my BlackBerry.

I have Verizon with the BB Bold, and wifey has the Curve2 and it's pretty awesome. But it's also about $100/month for each phone. Between using different messaging services and your Fav5 #'s, we never go over our minutes or data. Service has yet to fail and I'm all over the farms of south jersey. Data coverage has been spotty around Mullica Hill when inside, but call's come through fine(And we will be done that development soon so it will no longer effect me).

My company had Sprint/Nextel service for a few years and dropped it about a year ago for AT&T. Sprint service was pretty shotty, and AT&T's was excellent although we did upgrade to a 3g network.

WalMart smart phones suck... Navigating them is aggravating- A buddy has one and enjoys it otherwise.

right now im using a $30 very basic Nokia go phone on at&t. 450 mins, unlimited data and texting and I pay like $80 a month. I've gone through switching phones dozens of times, and when I had my IPhone way back I used to switch from unlimited to 1500 texts to save $10 like it was my job and they did it everytime no problem.

been with them for almost 5 years now and never have a had a single problem with service, customer service, or billing.

example. I just called this morning because when I switched from the phone I had before that broke to the go phone I can just them transfer my plan over. at the time I didnt think that the go phone could do internet, so I asked them to not charge me for the plan. later that day I found that I could use internet/do email, so I called back and had them add it back on.

well fast forward to today, I open my bill and its for $164. wtf right? call, talk to a very nice young lady named april. I explain my situation and she within 2 mins had it off my bill and back down to my normal balance. the reason it was so high was because I had the basic data package. so I was being charged for data over 1MB. She apologized took it off my bill, and bam. Done without any fuss. Can't get any better than that.

I have a moto droid on verizon service. I pay 106 a month unlimited data/text and 400 minutes(I think I text way more than call).

Couldn't be happier, but some poeple think the price is steep. Find a GOOD friend to go in on a family plan to help keep the price down.

ive had sprint for 5 years now. i just got the htc evo and im in love. i have unlimited everything (except landline.. only 300 mins but i never call any landlines) and its 80 a month with the 4g service. which is an extra 10 bucks but well worth IMO. Every phone ive broken as long as it wasnt smashed to pieces or wet ive always got a new one the next day with the 7 dollar insurance from sprint. i honestly never loose service and i think 80 bucks for unlimited everything is well worth it. Not to vote for my own carrier but i honestly cant complain at all.
