I go to school at the University of Delaware, where I live 99% of my current life, however have family and friends back home...so of course I'll always come visit but I live in a small town...NOTORIOUS for pulling people over ALL THE TIME. Of course my car attracts a TON of attention so you can imagine who feels some of the heat from the stricter traffic laws....

Well normally i get tickets such as front license plate missing (legal in del) or just warnings but I am extremely careful when it comes to driving around here but i get pulled over anyway. Sometimes Ill see the cop pull out to follow me and I pull right over...I dont play the "is he/she gonna pull me over game." When i get a chance to explain myself they realize that even if i was a terror...theyd theoretically only have to deal with it for the day and ill be back on my merry way to DE.

REASON FOR THE POST:

Today I am driving up---295 the whole way, I even pass a few cops in other towns...I am literally in my town for 5 MINUTES...delivering wheels to a buddy of mine(onthis forum) who bought some from a kid I know in Delaware. As, the light turns yellow for a left turn I make it.... and then hear sirens behind me!

Before i could do anything he grabs my license and gives me a ticket for left on red! 3 points and God knows how much money this is gonna cost.....

So the point of the story is....I dont make much money, but I enjoy working on my car....Now I have to take the little money I was saving for brakes(for the track) to be able to drive legally on the street.

MY QUESTION IS.... I didn't run the red light. It was yellow. So my guess is as I went through it turned red behind me or as soon as it went out of my sight...Point being--i never saw it red im not that stupid. What can i do!? Is there any way to get this completly scratched? THe only reason I even have a Jersey license is because I still technically live with my parents...

Is it worth it for me to stay through the weekend till Monday to talk to the prosecutor in the morning?

Cliffs notes...

got a ticket
barely live in Jersey
tight budget...can i get it scratched?
