Well i am in the market to purchase a new car. I have been looking high and low for e36 m3's under 10k and they are just hard as hell to find. So what i am asking is what other cars that are comparable to the m3 could i find under 10k (not interested in mustangs camaros or any car of the sort)

Its not really on the preformance level as an M3 but still pretty allright. If you want a good sturdy german car check out the mercedes C class. You could get one of the previous style's in your price range or the AMG in the 1st gen style.

I see your future: a FS ad for a beat-up M3 which you thought you got a good deal on but turns out there was a reason you picked it up so cheap.

I suggest a s2k, save yourself a couple headaches

I don't like verts either, but I'd gladly drive an S2k if it got me out of my hell hole on 4 wheels that is the spec-v.

Got Insulin?

I like this. Get yourself a hard top if you're not a fan of the soft top.

I don't think, I know...do I like it? sure..it's got character I guess, I've driven it nearly 100k miles and I'm sure I'll miss it slightly when it's gone...but I won't be sad to see it go

it IS a piece of ****....can I not wait to get rid of it for anything else? yes, even if I was trying to get out imports but there was an S2K in that price range...hell yeah, I'd say it's a better bet than basically anything you'll find for that price.

I am gonna sound like a complete idiot, but i got to drive an s2k recently and they are acutally pretty awesome, and the drop top has come on to me a lil, any suggestions of what to look for with a used one here is one i asked to trade my car for. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1891377568.html

^Haha. I've never been a fan of convertibles either, but the S2000 is one of the few I would happily drive. It's also one of the few Hondas I would happily drive.
