Has anyone on this forum ever dealt with this shop? I'm currently having a nightmare of an issue dealing with them, and I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

I googled the place and must of driven by the address 100s of times and never took notice. What happened?

Well its a small shop that works on primarly Hondas. I worked for Lenny's Auto down Rt. 100 and had an issue with my car and my boss told me about the shop, so i took my car there. What happened was that a screw came loose from my Skunk2 TB butterfly and fell into my engine, destroying my head, cylinder walls, and pistons. I had no clue this had happened, I was only informed once Mr. Meyers took the head off the car.

I decided since the engine was apart and needed to either be replaced or rebuilt, I'd upgrade the engine which i had him quote me for. He gave me a roundabout price and i told him to go ahead with the procedure. This was in October, the 29th to be exact. He had my block sent out for sleeving to some shop, and something happened at that shop where 1 of the employees tried to steal my block so it was returned to Meyers and sent to another shop, where they installed the sleeves incorrectly, and then sent to ANOTHER shop to fix what the 2nd shop has done. Now i understand that those circumstances weren't his fault, but the sluggish pace in which he decides to fix my car when i clearly told him that i need it within 2 months and was told that's when the date was only to be postponed time and time again is very irritating. All this could've been done on time had he actually put forth the effort. The worst part of the situation is the communication. I'd call him and he'd never answer his phone, never call me back, I could only find info out if i actually went to the shop and inquired, and still that was vague. Its been a good 9-10 months now, and my car still isn't finished although I was told in March my car was 1 step away from completion. Does it really take that long to sleeve a block, install rods and pistons and put a head back on? He doesn't answer my calls, just lets the phone ring, doesn't answer my voicemails, emails, or even facebook messages. I'm now in Florida for training so I can't go to the shop myself, and I am in dire need of my car as living in Florida without a vehicle is pretty difficult. I'm trying to see who has dealt with him before, or what i could do from here to get my car and engine back, even if i have to trailer it out and finish it elsewhere because this is preposterous to me.

Tell the shop not to do anything more to the car and that you are picking it up due to their failure to complete the job as promised. I'm sure they will tell you to pay in full first before they will give you the car but legally they can't do that. Just have the cops meet you at the shop and your car will magically be given to you. Only thing the shop can try to do is sue you but they will lose if you can prove everything your stated above.

I'm shocked you let it last this long. I'd of taken my car about after a few weeks because it isn't that hard to order parts and rebuild a motor.

that sucks man. we're 10 minutes down the road and i've never once heard of that place. sounds pretty shady to me. i guess that's why people always come to us with a chip on their shoulder because they've been jerked around by everyone else in the area. seems no one knows how to do work, get it out the door, and keep happy customers.

Call the magistrates office in his county. Show up with police. If you want to do things legally.

Yet another PA shop with a bad name. And to think.. I always feel bad when I have someones car for more then 5 days and that's doing a full engine/drivetrain job and a color change.

Goodluck on your situation. Places like this get away with it because nobody does anything about it. All it takes is for one person to actually do something about it (legally of course), And they will more then likly straighten out.

PS: Did you see the actual damage on YOUR personal parts that came from the car? I've seen ALOT of ''small business' " do shady things when they get a car in their posession. They will mess something very simple up that only they know how to fix, And in a week when it ''breaks'', you'll get charged huge money and they'll quick fix it and make up a huge story about major parts breaking. Or, They'll just say things are broke, That really are not broke. (have a spare engine/ ETC that has the damage they are claiming, And say it's yours... Only finding out your motor is not bad and they're charging you for your own motor, Even if they hafto go through the trouble of pulling the engine out once if you were to stop by so you can see the car with no engine, And the "broken engine" sitting next to it...While yours is off in the other end of the garage covered up waiting to go right back in.) ETC

Before i agreed to anything I looked at the engine and assessed the damage, I wouldn't have agreed to anything if i didn't. I don't know what my options are to actually retrieve the car since I'm currently in Florida and my training is Monday through Friday 6am to 1pm and the shop is closed on weekends so if i were to fly up I'd have to miss training for a day which they don't take lightly. Would i have to call the Magistrate and/or maybe the Better Business Bureau to inquire what I can do? I don't want to waste a trip up from Florida and my time away from training to come back empty handed and upset yet again.

As for proving my communication efforts I can just have Tmobile send me a printed bill in which you can see that i call them at least 3 times a day 3-4 days out of the week, i still have my sent emails and facebook messages to which i got no response that I can print out also.

I do believe you need to serve him with papers. You can contract a document serving company in PA and just fax them what ever you want to give them. Serve him with papers that state you a. want your car finished. b. your car returned. or c. you will be suing him for time and jobs lost, plus suffering.

Stop waiting around and GET IT DONE.

i agree. there are many things you can do legally to push some weight around. it takes a lot of on-the-phone time which may be at a premium for you but it's time that must be spent if you want any results from the situation.
