I recently posted on the "what do you look like" thread and was told to set something up here telling my story so here it goes.

May 20, 2004 I turned 16 and got my first 240. It seemed like every week something was breaking on my beloved piece of crap which was okay for a while as long as it was easily replaceable for cheap. I soon grew tired of pulling from 6 or 7 junkyard cars and decided to start looking for a parts car of my very own. It didn't take me long once I really started looking. I went to find some random part in one of the more organized junk yards and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I looked into the yard and there was a 240 staring at me. I went in and asked for the story behind it. They told me they had just gotten it in and they think someone had run into a guardrail with it. The tranny was questionable but other than that, it was a relatively clean. Complete with a rusted-infused rubber-winged hatch, a busted up piggy front end and a muffler large enough to make a turbocharged supra happy... How much? 600 bucks. I'll take it.

So now I had my parts car. When I got home, my parents were kind enough to give me both garage spots for a few days so I could really check out both cars. Turns out the one I was driving daily had frame rust far worse than I had originally suspected. Enough that would cause it to not pass inspection in December (this was sometime around sept-oct 2004) so as I wallowed in my misery, I began researching what it would take to make my junkyard find street legal. Turns out it was mostly paperwork and waiting for Harrisburg to give the green light. All I needed to do was provide photographic evidence that I had restored the car to factory or better than factory condition aesthetically and prove that it was safe enough to create trouble on the roads of the US of A once more.

The next series of months were spent in said parents garage putting on a laundry list of modifications. I'm sure this part will need editing as I remember more but for now, here is a list...

Starting from the outside and working in we have a complete body kit (Abflug side skirts and rear valence with DRFT front bumper cover, front Kouki driving lights, rear kouki lights, REV speed six wheels (a bit too thin I know. This is something I plan on upgrading once I start getting a steady pay-check), and streetglows which was one of the first things I got for the car and one of the last things to go on it. The streetglows have since been removed. Let me know if you want a set of red streetglows .

Every piece of the exhaust was upgraded. I used ebay 4-2-1 headers (obx racing), a random technology high flow cat, and a 5 zigen rocket cat-back.

The transmission, which was removed about five times prior to its eventual replacement was kept stock. The clutch and flywheel were replaced with act and fidanza goodies. The cherry topping for this assembly was the ebay short-shifter that broke a few hundred miles into its usage and until recently caused a horrible rattling noise.

The suspension was tightened up with KYB-AGX shocks and struts with eibach sportline springs. I also equipped it with front and rear upper strut bars.

The interior is primarily stock with the exception of a momo jet steering wheel, momo pedals, a pair of corbeau A4 seats, and a nice custom bright red paint job on the rear side panels (thanks p.o. :o).

At the time, I left the engine relatively untouched as well equipping it with an injen intake, magnecor ignition cables and a chrome valve cover.

The next summer (2005), I took it to carlisle P&S and surprisingly won two trophies! Best in show Nissan/Infiniti and Best in show Undercarriage.

For the next few years while I was in college I rode it out keeping everything unchanged until recently when I graduated.

I began speaking with Jon from Street Solutions shortly after I graduated and ended up going through him to get an sr20det installed. He was great to work with did excellent work. A list of current mods to the sr are as follows

Apexi Power FC intake
Walbro fuel pump
PS Lines
A/C delete
Blitz intercooler
HKS SSQV BOV&hotpipe
trust downpipe
circuit sports turbo elbow
exedy spec 2 clutch
Greddy profec 2 boost controller
Boost gauge
Greddy turbo timer that has not been installed yet

Pictures!!!!
Unfortunately during the initial build, I did not have a digital camera so I only have completed pictures. I will try to make a note to bring some of my 5x7's with me to various events...

Thank you everyone for the compliments. Taking it to a shop to do the sr swap for me after doing everything else but the paint job myself was tough to say the least but I am happy I did it. It came out really clean.

I know in certain pictures she can resemble a monster truck. Nice wheels and a set of coilovers are next.

I am in Reading all the time. Not last night though. I went to Oley and my neighbors went to Muhlenberg so I am not far from the city at all.

Currently working for the Reading Phillies!

Typically though, you will see me in a black nissan xterra which I just began trying to sell or an automatic 93 240 that needs a paint job.

DPancoast: It has to be the same spot. I was creeping on your build thread a bit yesterday and saw the picture you had in front of the same greenhouse. Daniel Boone Homestead.

Looks great. Nice story as well. I think some 5% tint and blacking out the roof would look really good.

I actually contemplated blacking out the rear windows and painting the roof black. I'm glad someone shares that thought. Wheels and a lower suspension come first. And before that, I NEED A JOB!

XAlliedYouthX: That's really cool. Was your car down there by the time mine was done? I'm trying to figure out if I got to see it or not...

Not sure if it was there when you picked yours up but it was there while your's was getting done. In the 5th picture you posted you can see part of my frontend in the background behind the Integra.

Yeah, I remember seeing it or one just like it. Blacktop with battery issues? I liked your exhaust.

That'd be mine.

My battery issue ended up just being me letting it sit for to long in the winter and killing the battery. I love my Apex'i Noir.

I just remembered too that I saw you over at Play N Trade a few months back when I was stopping by the comic shop across the street.

I think of all things it could have been, you lucked out.

I don't think you saw ME at Play N Trade a few months back. I have never been to a Play N Trade. Unless someone was jacking my car and taking it for joy-rides in the snow while I was in State College, it must have been someone else.

Well it's inspection time. Looks like I am going to have to tend to my current lack of horn and driving/turn signal dilemma. I think I found an answer for the lights...

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/adrians13s-diy-sidemarker-flashers.html

Also, a few days ago I had the steering wheel off to see if the horn was getting electric. It was so I am just going to try and run an independent button on my dash somewhere for it.

Thanks everyone. As far as coil/wheel/tire combo, I haven't quite decided yet. I will look to spend a little over a grand for a semi-decent set of coils. I am constantly keeping an eye open on wheel/tire classifieds for potentials. I am open to most things from works and volks to xxr's and rota's. I do intend on upgrading to an 18" one piece with a little wider stance. I think it is going to come down to what I find once I start getting a steady paycheck and the rubber starts wearing thin on my current set-up.

To give closure to the horn/light debackle - I routed the horn wire to the cigarette lighter. Yes, now every time you press the cigarette lighter down, the horn blows. Always gets a laugh when I show people and passes inspection without issue. I also rebuilt the wiring harness for the front driving lights/turn signals and install the stock lights once a year to get her through. The rest of the year I remove the stock lights and just have the kouki's in my bumper serve as turn signals.

A few weeks ago I installed Q45 brakes for the front along with SS brake lines and bought a nice staggered set of 5zigen zr 520+'s with brand new tires. Due to the offset and size, I will need to get my fenders rolled/pulled. More to follow here. I will update the original post with current pictures when I get a chance.

I threw a few pictures up. Many more to follow. The wheels were balanced last weekend and I have an appointment this weekend to get the fenders rolled/pulled.
