ONCE AND FOR ALL, I'd finally like to ask about a drinking question....

I own a home(pa) and am of legal drinking age....If I have a "get-together/party" and some people are drinking (over 21) and other people are in the house not drinking(under 21), can I still get in trouble(as the homeowner) for having "underage" people in my house with people drinking?

The only reason i ask is because i was once at a "drinking party" in NJ and was under age but NOT drinking, and the cops said i could get in trouble for just being in the presence of alcohol at the party. I was under 18, so they just took me home, so I don't really know the truth behind it.

I'm just wondering because ever since that incident I feel like I should not have ANYone in the house under 21 if I have people drinking. Thanks, hope you can help.

yes your are reasponsable for that and you can defantly get in a lot of trouble.. Remember a while back when some Kids mom had a graduation party at her house and all the kids were drinking some of age some not.. well she was arrested.. so I would be checking IDs at the door because you dont want to get charged with corruption of a minor.. its not fun

Ok, well so then the charge would be corrupting a minor?? and this could happen even if it wasnt a "drinking party"?
