I have an 06 Tiburon GT w/ a stock 440 watt Infinity system and an aftermarket Pioneer Premier headunit. It came with a 8" sub and amp. The sound is great inside the car, but unlike a bunch of my friends, the sound really isn't heard outside of the car. I'm not talking about the bass specifically, don't want it extremely loud, just the entire system in general. Is this because they turn it up overly high (which I don't intend to do), or is it a better amp or something? What would make my sound be heard more clearly outside of my car? Thanks~

That 8inch subwoofer doesn't produce much sound... and most stock audio is actually able to handle just a little over what its rated for..
Take it to some Audio Professionals and let them help you.

That's why I posted ;)
The 8 inch sub gives me enough bass for what I need. Would love a little better mids/highs though, as well as an answer to my original question.

open the doors? lol
to be honest, any sound heard outside the car, is wasted sound. If you want better sound, get a component set for the front and make sure you're getting proper RMS wattage to the sub and speakers... otherwise they are being starved of power which will eventually blow them
