i've mad my ej8 for about a year and a half. a few months ago i decided on an auto to manual conversion, but had trouble with that (making the right parts list, finding parts, etc.). then i said f*** it, i'll just sell the car and buy something manual. i was thinking of going vw, but i like my civic. i'm having zero luck what-so-ever selling my car.

i'd like to do the conversion, but all the parts lists i find are different. anyone willing to help me out or any advice on what to do?

I thought your car looked pretty cool... The pics you posted on the SI rims, it was a little to low IMO. I would keep looking into a swap, over the next few months, if you keep an eye out, you could prob find some good deals on the parts you need.

Your car isn't selling because your asking way to much... There are tons of nice Civics on CL that are a lot cheaper than what your asking, and you can get a 2000 from a dealership for only a few hundred more.

Swap it. Selling a car right now is pointless, nobody is getting what they think their car is worth. Its a buyers market... youd have to be prepared to take a hit on it if you want to sell it.

Off the top of my head:

Transmission
Clutch
Flywheel
Manual pedals
Master cylinder
Shift linkage
Shifter and boot
ECU
Gauge cluster if you dont have a tach on yours
Maybe axles?

Besides some small **** here and there, that is pretty much everything you need. Manual swaps really aren't that hard. You have a clean car, and it's something you've had for a while and are comfortable with. I say keep it and swap it or just keep it auto and daily it.

X2. buying a car right now is where your getting the deals but selling oen is just pointless. it all depends on your asking price though as well.

just do the manual swap. the good thing about the ek is that all u have to do is swap the 5spd mount onto the frame. its not like the EG where u would either have to buy a conversion mount or cut the bracket and weld on the 5spd bracket to get the 5 spd mount to fit. if u love ur car then just go that route. then u wont have to go through all the insurance and dmv crap.

Very true. After paying for tax and title and all that, i cant see you coming out ahead, as opposed to just swapping it. Just do as much reading on it as you can, be 100% sure of what you need and what its going to take. make sure there are no suprises coming, and have all your parts ready before you start. The difference between a weekend swap and a 6 month project is PREPARATION.
