I'm usually met with a lot of shock and confusion when people see that i've modded a prius.

I've just about ran out of parts to put on it. Anything else would need to come from Japan and it costs a ton to ship. They have a pretty good sized aftermarket over there.

I'd go with a bigger wheel/thinner tire, other than that it's pretty awesome lol.

so whats installed on this so far?

Eibach pro-kit lowering springs
Work RSZ-R 2-piece forged, 15x7 +35 all the way around. They are about 4 lbs lighter per wheel than the stock wheels give or take. Stock tires. I've always plus-sized wheels on my previous cars but I didn't want to throw off the gas savings on this one so I stayed with 15's. Actually picked up about 2 mpg.

40% tint all the way around, blue Lamin-X headlight film and yellow Lamin-x foglight film, courtesy of shades of gray.

JDM plate only because the dealership drilled front license plate holes (4 of them) and i've yet to pick up some plugs.

The interior is pretty loaded (leather, navigation, rear backup cam, bluetooth) so i'm leaving that stock although I did install a seat extension on the drivers side because i'm 6'3".

Tanabe is supposed to be releasing an exhaust. That seems sort silly, doubt i'll purchase it. If anything, may order a jdm lip at some point in the future but shipping from japan for the lip is ridiculous at $300-$400.

Haha, you were parked next to me today when I came out from getting a drug test. The white Civic was mine. My girlfriend was with me and I was showing her how cool it looked.

Needs a rusty hood and to be drenched in dinosaur blood.

Wheels are sick.

I once got a Prius to do 11mpg. I was proud of myself. Don't be fooled. It wasnt easy.

Actuley what a lot of people dont know about prius's is they have the potental to be one wickid nasty car. The power of thoes electric motors is only limited by how much power is going through them there is not limit to what thoes electric motors can do just the battery.

That's wildly incorrect. Electric motors have power ratings that depend on the quality of their materials and design. It's true that an increase in voltage or current will increase the power output of the motor but that doesn't mean that they can put out an infinite amount of power for an infinite amount of power input.

For the most part I agree. I have had 8 yeas schooling in Electrical and Electronics, and have been working in large scale electrical engineering for 8.5 years. The electric motors surely can take the current increase from larger amp hour batteries, and an increased number of cell. But they don't do this factory for reliability. The instantaneous torque will throw the shaft off its axis and lead to brush ware. More current, more heat, more carbonization of the brushes, and breakdown of the varnish insulation on the windings. Sure he can do it, but in the long run.... your fixing it soon.

Sorry, didn't mean it to sound like that. lol. Try it again, but desaturated the color picture first, then make it grayscale, then working from there.

I drive at night with 30% tint all around. When you first get it, its a little hard to see, esp when backing up, but after a while you get used to it. I got my car tinted 2 weeks ago and still have a little trouble backing up. You have to do little things like put down the window when backing up in dark places or putting in brighter reverse bulbs. If you are thinking about getting tinted... its def worth it. im sure by next week I wont even think about it when im backing up... it will just become natural.

The car is def sweet man. This is the first one i have seen modded like this, great job!

I would def smoke the tail lights. Take it to a place that does good vinyl work and get them wrapped right. I was doing a little Photoshop work and it would look cool if you painted that black strip above the Toyota logo that is in between the 2 tail lights white, instead of black (i think its a small window?)

yeah, I dont want to sacrifice any driveability. I'm stuck between 40% or 50%; although 40% does look good

I left out details because no one typically cares when I get into detail. I have four years of mechanical engineering schooling behind me and I've found too much detail bores/confuses people. Keeping the shaft balanced is part of the issue but only the beginning of the issues involved with overloading the motor. The lifespan of the motor is heavily dependent on the amount of power you're trying to get out of it and since that hasn't been specified the lifespan can't be specified either.

It's really not bad at all. Wish I would have gone darker, but this seems to keep the cops away *knock on wood*

I can't decide if I want to wrap the taillights in smoke tint or with red overlay. Leaning towards smoke.

you cant settle on a car can you lol

Lol i'll probably end up keeping it. Just trying to sell it and then put 3/4 of the proceeds towards my student loans, and buy a beater. We'll see, haven't had any bites at all.
