View Full Version : What are the best tires?????

Im looking for only ALL SEASON tires in the range of approx 7-8 hundred dollars but will go higher if needed. my size is 225/40/18 and thank you everyone for your opinions!!!!

I've tried tons of all-season tires and the best I've ever used was BF Goodrich g-Force Supersport A/S H/V rated. Excellent grip in dry, wet, and snow.

The only all seasons I've ever ran were Toyo Proxes 4 and they surprised me with their performance on my 425hp car.

Exactly. What car are they going on (it does matter because of the vehicle weight) and what do you do with the car?

ok the intended purpose of these tires is too be good all around tires, the car is a b6 passat 2.0t i just want the best all around tire for some spirited driving, and no i wont be taking it on the track

Do you really plan on running them through all 4 seasons?? Dunlop Direzza and Toyo T1R's will smoke it up on the dry tarmac, and they both will still allow some spirited driving through the rain... They will most likely blow in the snow, and the tread rating is low so life expectancy when driving "spirited" will not be the best. But I guess niet

I just bought Kuhmo AST's... cheap and terrible in the wet. And I've always loved Kuhmo's.

A buddy has some version of BFG KDW, and he loves them. I gotta ask what model specifically.

I have the Continental ExtremeContact DWS as my daily driver tire. They are quiet, have good handling, and work great in the rain and are good in snow.

In Tirerack's test, they actually went through the slalom faster in the rain than they did on dry pavement. Their short AutoX lap times were almsot unchanged int he wet compared to a dry track, and the stopping distance hardly changed at all between a dry and wet track.

How are they in the snow?

I haven't driven on them in the snow in my Mustang, but I did on another car and they worked as good as you can expect an all season tire to work int he snow. I had no complaints about them in the snow.

Tirerack's comparison test with them in the snow ranked them high.

I ran the Continential ContiExtremeContacts on my DSM before. The tire life was good and they were great in the wet and the snow, but the sidewalls were soft and rolled over easy with a car as heavy as an AWD DSM.

They were awesome in the snow though.


But right now I'm running Dunlop Direzza's for the summer and I now have a dedicated set of Dunlop Winter Sport M2's for the winter. Having a dedicated winter tire is really nice, especially when you drive as much and a far in the winter as I do.
