Very true. This is why most jeep owners when they have there soft tops on they dont lock there doors... its cheaper to buy a new radio than it is to buy a new soft top.

It's all about expected demographic, driver record, and crash testing. Replacing a $50,000 corvette that you could walk away from in a crash means nothing to an insurance company. Having to pay $250,000+ to you or someone who was seriously injured/killed in a crash is what the insurance companies are worried about
