I've heard of diesels getting hundreds of thousands of miles, but not this.

Wow, I've read of old carb cars going that long and longer, but that's pretty near for a moderately modern car.

My 25 Saturn SL2 has 268k miles on it with no signs of failing soon. Only issue the motor every had so far was a blow headgasket and of course normal maintaince. I think most cars can make some high miles if they are taken care of.

Thats still alot of miles on that car though. Someone does alot of highway driving that for sure.

Check out the 8th Gen civic with same kinda mileage. He is some type of medical supply runner he puts a ton of mileage on his car annually.

I know there was a guy with an 86' Accord, got it to 500k with only changing the oil, belts, and brakes. Never touched the suspension or anything.

Theres a dealership in TX that has a 1994 Integra in their showroom with like 860,000 on it. On the original motor. 11 timing belts, 8 clutches or something like that.

And Saab used to give a free car to anyone who put 1,000,000 miles on one of their cars- but stopped doing it because they were giving away to many cars. lol.

My 1994 civic cx has 220,000+ miles on it when I swapped out that turd motor. That motor had perfect compression across all cylinders, no leaks, new waterpump/tbelt/oil pump, the factory clutch was still in tact and the trans didn't grind whatsoever. Too bad it was rated at 70hp at the flywheel or I would've kept it.

yeah most people really don't get it.

they're not lying when they say doing maintenance and taking care of your car will make it last just that much longer.

the better you treat/take care of your car, the longer it will last

I'd buy it, the VQ can't break. Any stories you hear of it happening are false.

I was touching the 200k mark on my 96 saturn's motor before I put the built motor in it. It ran awesome, just burned some oil unfortunately. When i finally took it apart to put it in someone else's car the crank and bearings were minty fresh. We re-ringed it, threw on a new headgasket, valve seals and threw it in his car and it's still going great. Oh and it had the original clutch in it too, but that was shot when i finally took it out.
