Thought this was a great topic considering fathers day is coming up.

Well my dad always drove the ****tiest, ugliest cars imaginable. He always had a station wagon and I distinctly remember him driving a K Car station wagon for year.

When I was 4-5 he was getting another station wagon. This was about the time Smokey and the Bandit was out and they had a Trans Am just like in the movie. I was protesting the station wagon and pointing at the Trans Am but it didn't work he got another station wagon.

So not sure what if any influence my dad had on the cars I bought but even my first car was infinitely more interesting then anything he ever owned.

My dad won't drive anything but a POS... yet he has no trouble dropping $100s per bottle for liquer, going on cruises several times a year, ect.

They always yell at me for wasting my money on cars, but I enjoy driving. It isn't just getting from point A to B for me.

My Dad used to have a Galant VR4 when I was 15. Didn't even know what it was until years later. I just remember him always telling me how quick it was.

The funny part about it is I went to a friend of a friend's house where they were working on a VR4 he had just bought and it was my Dad's old car!

It's about what he hasn't owned as far as I'm concerned. For as long as I can remember, my dads been saying he wants a Lexus. Buying him one is really high on my "must do" list. In the meantime, I let him drive my STi anytime he wants.

My dad always had a small pickup truck...and it was always manual... he hates automatic's, he had some crappy Nissan pickup, then a 93 S10 with the 4.3, he did some basic stuff to (chip, cat-back, intake, short throw) and now he has a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner, so far just an intake, but he's been looking at a s/c or possibly turbo kit if a good one comes out.

But he worked to C.A.R.T. indy car series for ~10 years, so he got his speed thrills from there... and so did I, growing up going to races and hanging out with the drivers and teams...

1978 Camaro - Same as above

1984 Corvette - Sold it

1986 Camaro IROC Z28 - Beautiful car. Was stolen and stripped. Found it 1 mile away on cynder blocks

1986 Monte Carlo SS - Stolen 4 times lol. Not sure what my step-dad did with it since I havent talked to him since 1998 when my parents divorced.

1967 corvette 427 convertabile - My mom still has. ****ing love it. It will be mine someday.

So pretty much I grew up chevy. I love chevy. My future car will be a newer vette one day. I currently drive a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 with 60-1 turbonetics setup and all supporting mods. Not sure why i went mopar. I just live my life day by day. My first car I owned was when i was in the military and that was a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It got repo'ed when i got out of the Air Force. lol. Learned my financial lesson the hard way.

They always yell at me for wasting my money on cars, but I enjoy driving. It isn't just getting from point A to B for me.

My brothers girlfriend does that to me. I think it's pretty funny.

Mainly she worries that I may influence my brother I think but it still makes me laugh.

I grew up with my dad driving this:
http://www.mazdas247.com/members/Rush/69ChargerBW.jpg

'69 Dodge Charger R/T. He had so much done to it that the effin' thing ran airplane fuel. He had it for a long time, and we both cried when he sold it.

I think it's safe to say that's where I got my passion for cars. My dad is always the first to volunteer to help me with any mods on my car. He absolutely loved working on my MSP with me, and he still comes to me for help whenever something goes weird on his Protege.

I love my Pops. :o

My dad had an E30 as a daily and a Golf GTi for the weekend back when I was about 4 years old. Then had Nissans, Fords, another BMW, and Toyota's, but the E30 and GTi is what made me like German.

My father sold most his toys to pay for raising us kids. And I both thank him and curse him.

He had a huge chevy truck on 38's, I vaguely remember him picking me up in to it! I do remember it not fitting under the carport, it was huge.

I mostly curse him for selling his 70something SuperCJ-7. We (my father his friends and I randomly, as i was like 5 at the time) destroyed this thing every Saturday. Flip it, sink it, try and climb it straight up a wall... Then Sunday sit underneath it, curse at it, and fix it for next Saturday.

He had a Escort, Chevy truck, the third '96 F150 with a third door in PA, and now a 2001 F250. I'm really hoping he decides to get something newer, as I really want the 250... even though it's not a diesel.

Not the coolest collection of cars in the world, but all functional- And he did roll a vw bug back in the 70's.

As a father I want to gather a car from each year each child was born, 3. '06 '07 '08, ugh the choices.

My dad had pickup trucks, and now I live in Pennsylvania. That's really the only correlation I can come up with.

My Dad used to have a Galant VR4 when I was 15.

You win. haha. At a young age it was probably nothing, but now, i wish my Dad had a GVR4, haha.

My dad had a 61 or 62 Bel-Air at one point when I was young. It was definitely the catalyst for me getting into cars. I mean, who doesn't admire at least one Bel-Air in their day? To this day I wish he had it. It would have made a sweet project.

Wow, let's see...(years are approximate)

In the 1980's, some kind of station wagon followed by some kind of van, don't remember what.
1992 Chrysler Imperial
1996 Isuzu Rodeo
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
2004 Kia Sorento
2008 Lincoln MKZ (current)

Needless to say, none of them really had any influence on me whatsoever, and I certainly have different opinions/taste in cars. :)
