I'm tryin to get my new OBX exhaust on right now so I can do a review for you guys. Here's my issue. I wanna take the old exhaust off clean, so it can be reusued by me if i end up not liking the sound of the obx. The old bolts are so rusted and screw up you cant get a socket to turn on them. I just tryed a air hammer with a chissel, but its not goin through the bolt. It is pretty dull, but i've never had issues with it before. is there anything that would make it easier to get these off? i was thinkin bout goin to my work and pickin up a nut buster, would that be easiest? thanx.

you need some PB blaster. its great penetrating fluid.

cut off the bolts with an air grinder and get new bolts easy as that

how much pressure do you think are on the springs where it bolts to the cat? I'm worried bout it blasting off and hitting something, or me... :)

na, they arent that bad. i cut mine off....

now the bolts i replaced with them allowed me to thread farther...which compressed the springs fully. if i were to cut those off then I would have had a problem. BUT the stock bolts only allow for a little compression

On my exhaust, (its an 02, so not THAT old) matt was removing my bolt when it snapped, the spring flew out and hit him in the arm, just left a red mark, nothing major...and like i said, car wasnt that old, and the older it is, the less play the spring is gonna have left.

you could always put a zip tie in the spring if your are worried about that.
